The missing man was formerly a custodian at St. Vincent Hospital. Was he an identity thief? Bowen answers that question with another.

“Is there a past or history that he’s trying to run from? We really have a lot more questions than answers.“

Video at link Police still hope to solve mystery of man missing from Sheridan since 1992
If they haven't identified the man in the photo, how do they know what he thought?

From the article:

Police have a photo of the man on his wedding day in 1991, standing with his best man, a work associate at the time. He had met his wife at a Sheridan gas station where she worked. All of them thought his name was Paul Harrod.

Snipped...
...Over the years, detectives have uncovered several new clues that raised even more questions:

- The 1992 white Geo Metro Harrod left in was sold in Denver, Colorado in 1994.

- Harrod's Social Security number was not issued until 1987.

- The high school Harrod listed as attending has no record of him.

- A Paul Raymond Harrod with the same parents' names and date of birth was killed by a car when he was 5 years old.

Detectives: Sheridan man missing since 1992 could be using false identity

I also wonder how Paul was able to get his Social Security Number in 1987 if there's no record of him prior to that? This is indeed a mystery.
I am the Detective who has been working this case for six years. There is so much more to this which I have not put out.

I have identified the best man. He has no memory of the wedding or Paul. He also worked at the hospital with Paul, but in different areas. He admitted to having been in a severe crash in the last couple of years and a heart attack last year.

Oh no. What about other people at the wedding or folks that knew them as a couple? Can you tell us why his wife waited so long to report him missing?

You have to meet the wife to understand that. She is willing to help me in any way, to my face. But as soon as I leave, she buries her head in the sand hopes this all will go away. She stated she thought he would come back, when he failed to, she wanted to forget all about him. She allegedly discovered he had another social from a GMAC investigator who was looking for the vehicle he left in.

What were his skills and/or hobbies? ie: How would he have supported himself after his disappearance? Also, how did he obtain Paul Harrod's SSN and assume his identity (if you know)? Does LE have his DNA?
MOO

He was a good cook, alleged to have worked at Harrod's Casino in Vegas, in US Air Force stationed in Greenland and had several other jobs. It is my opinion he worked jobs well below his intelligence level to stay under the radar. The wife said he always had multiple jobs though. She knew little of his past life other than he was from Evanston Il, parents were dead and he was an only child. He also told her he was from the Bronx and his mother was Italian.

BBM

Hhmm, anyone from Ohio who joined the Air Force & didn't come back? Or, is/was AWOL? Other then Honorable discharge? Short time in Air Force ROTC?

Actually, it might be possible to conceal a double life by claiming active duty/deployment?

Intriguing case!

(Ya'll know I loved the whole FLEK event we shared.)
