How very sad. I also saw that no one is posting on her find Rochelle's Facebook. What happened to the person of interest?

He left the state and LE can't lay hands on him. LE informed some family that a man had confessed to being an accessory to her murder, but there's been no body located and the person of interest can't be found to corroborate the story. The Find Rochelle FB has been quiet because her friends believe she's dead.

Kentucky Man Charged In 2015 Murder Of Pregnant Woman

A Kentucky man has been charged with murder in the 2015 disappearance of a pregnant woman who vanished after leaving a northwestern Indiana college campus.

A Lake County judge entered not guilty pleas on behalf of 25-year-old Derron Fuller during a Tuesday hearing. Prosecutors allege that the Fort Knox, Kentucky, man killed his 20-year-old girlfriend, Rochelle Thomas Stubblefield, in November 2015.

The Northwest Indiana Times reports that Stubblefield’s body has never been found. Prosecutors say she was pregnant with Fuller’s child. Stubblefield was last seen by friends at Calumet College in Hammond on the night of Nov. 10, 2015.

Details of Disappearance
Stubblefield was last seen on November 10, 2015, when she went with friends to a basketball game after attending classes at Calumet College of St. Joseph in Whiting, Indiana. She has never been heard from again. Since her disappearance, there hasn't been any activity on her bank account or cellular phone. Her car was found abandoned in Gary, Indiana.

Derron Fuller was reportedly Stubblefield's boyfriend at the time of her disappearance, and the father of her unborn child, but when the police interviewed him he said he wasn't dating and wasn't her baby's father. He said he didn't know Stubblefield's whereabouts but that she had talked about going to Atlanta, Georgia. A photo of Fuller is posted with this case summary.

On November 20, ten days after Stubblefield was last seen, police got a tip from two of Fuller's cousins, who said that during a phone conversation he had admitted to killing a woman who was eight months pregnant with his child. Fuller supposedly stated he choked her and stabbed her in the temple because he didn't want to pay chid support. He said he buried her body an elementary school in Gary.

Fuller was located on November 23, when the police found him at his girlfriend's house. The girlfriend later told authorities that she'd picked him up at Williams Elementary School in Gary and that he told her something had happened to Stubblefield and he had done it. He started throwing Stubblefield's belongings, including her identification, out of the window of the girlfriend's car.

Investigators later found some of those items, including her glasses (which were broken) and her shoes. After the girlfriend picked him up, Fuller stayed the night with her and told her he had choked Stubblefield to death.

In July 2020, Fuller was arrested and charged with two counts of murder, in the death of Stubblefield and the death of her unborn baby, and one count of obstruction of justice. His former girlfriend was granted immunity from prosecution in the case. Fuller is awaiting trial.

Stubblefield is a graduate of Portage High School. She was studying criminal justice in college, with hopes of a career in law enforcement, and was also a member of her college's track team. Her body has never been located in spite of repeated searches, but foul play is suspected in her case due to the circumstances involved.

This Derron Fuller sounds like a real dirtbag of the worst type.

The schoolyard is mostly open areas, of course, but there’s a few small wooded sections that I can see on Google Earth. There is the Dunbar Polanski Middle School visible on Google Earth, on the same grounds as Williams, which was permanently closed a few months before she went missing in 2015. I don’t know if it’s still abandoned, it looks awful in the GE app. Someone explored it recently and posted this video:
Also there was a fire there in 2018. Wondering if she’s hidden somewhere around this abandoned building.

Stubblefield, 20, a Calumet College student and track athlete, was 35 weeks pregnant with his child when she disappeared on Nov. 10, 2015. Her body has never been found.

She planned to name her son Amir.

Fuller, now 29, formerly of Fort Knox, Kentucky, while in the Army, but originally from Gary, was sentenced to 94 years in May 2023 on two counts of murder and one count of obstruction of justice.

In a 3-0 decision, Appeals Judge Cale Bradford rejected Fuller’s attempts to pick apart the evidence used against him at trial.

In the appeal, Fuller argued his rights had been violated by several bits of evidence admitted, the court erred by rejecting his motion to dismiss, and he questioned the sufficiency of the evidence — i.e. the trial went on despite being a circumstantial case.

He also argued he was denied due process at trial — most significantly that detectives lost the cousin’s seized cell phone during the course of the case, and the cousin’s police interview got corrupted, preventing his lawyer from challenging the witness’s credibility — and that investigators were never able to pull information from the device.
