We did - within a week or so of the verdict he was on Dr. Drew pushing it. To give Dr. Drew his due, he was almost turning blue trying to be positive about it.
What worries me is that this is all conjecture. My mother was left in an orphanage after the sudden death of her mother...spent years there before my grandfather remarried (not really, but long story) and took her home. She was treated like a servant. I don't know where she got the strength that sustained her...but you couldn't meet a more loving and generous woman...and I would have gladly let her hold my first child in the delivery room. So what is this guy actually saying? IMHO, there's no validity to this. Life is a crapshoot. And ITA with you...Casey IS a sociopath. I just don't want this becoming part of the sanitization of Miss Casey. Casey was responsible for Caylee's death...it really is that simple.

I have a similar story in that my uncle killed my grandfather, which I learned about pretty late in life - my grandmother went off the edge and there seems to be some question as to how her youngest child died. Sorry it's a bit brutal in the telling but my siblings and I despite having "interesting" upbringings, have never laid a hand on any of our children, and there was once six of us. So I say "carp" and to finish that story, my uncle was acquitted - self defense, disappeared and was never heard from again. Goes to show - you never know what goes on behind the door of a respectable upper middle class Caucasian home.

As I said once before - psychiatrists' eyes light up when they meet me - and I still say carp - just back right off and go amuse yourself with your theories and stats someplace else..

There are no words for me.....well there are...but I would definitely deserve a T/O.....:furious:

he says it's no surprise caylee was tossed out liek trash, since OCA was already a ghost herself.

this lends anecdotal credence to my theory that people in the mental health field could usually use a little help themselves (no offense intended to our posters who are in this field, you all may well be the ones I've never met who are quite sane :floorlaugh:)

Powerful words RR0004 and I agree. I suspect we will see a constant drip of this type of attempt at sanitation (great word!) of OCA to get her ready for the big $$$$ reveal.

I sure have and have several friends who are mental health professionals who are an ongoing process while working in the field.
I also don't want to give the impression that I am anti-mental health professional because that isn't true at all. But in a profession where there can be much theory and blurring of the lines, it leaves a lot of room for those who are completely off the wall with their theories and treatments to thrive. I think folks should be very very careful when choosing a professional to work with.

Our minds are fairly uncharted territory and I think we need to have respect for who our authentic self is and take care not to just hand our most important self over to just anyone to tinker with.

I'm not a psychiatrist, a psychologist, a doctor, a lawyer (or a chemist!), but I come from a long line of screwed up people and I know screwed up when I see it. The Anthonys are royally screwed up. Lying is as normal to all of them as breathing is to everyone else. Their family crest probably says "Deny, Deny, Deny." I've never seen anything like them, and FCA is the worst of the lot. But her parents are right there behind her.

Who picks up a car from an impound lot and - when confronted with the smell of death AND a missing granddaughter - goes immediately into massive coverup mode? Cindy's a nurse and George was a cop and they didn't KNOW that Caylee had been decomposing in the trunk and that Casey killed her and then disposed of her? Please. Don't buy it and never will.

A very bad seed sprouted that whole family tree of messed up, lying, psycho freaks. For folks who say they are happy the Anthonys are moving on with their lives, I say, "Bullcarp!" Casey's a murderer and her mother, father and brother are accessories after the fact. The whole lot should be in the slammer.

And now they're living off their murdered granddaughter! That goes so far beyond the pale that I can barely wrap my mind around it.

Listen, I'm no rent-a-shrink but that is just MESSED UP. It's wrong in every way imaginable. The karma train can't run over this group fast enough to suit me.

Apologies for the rant.

That's why there are licensing boards and legal requirements for use of evidence based practice for professionals in the mental health field.

George either testified to this or I saw it on an interview but Cindy and Casey insisted. George looked uncomfortable even in the telling and said he did not want to be there. Not too many men would watch a birth in a mirror I think. I know I would not....even my own child...I can wait for the baby on the chest immediately afterwards...:innocent:

Well it may be unusual for a father to be at the "food of the bed" but when my grandson was born, my son was at the head of the bed by my daughter-in-law watching in the mirror, and myself and the other grandma were right behind the doctor at the foot of the bed and could see the birth and everything, which was scary seeing as my grandson had the cord wrapped around his neck.

I think it's a personal choice - not mine - but I have no issue with two grandma's watching the birth of a precious new grandchild.

The story of Caylee’s disappearance really starts with her great grandfather Alexander Plesea being abandoned to an orphanage by his father, after his mother’s sudden death. He later would marry his wife Shirley, whose own father Stiles had abandoned her, her siblings and her mother and left them with no support.

Should we be surprised, then, when Casey failed to report her own daughter Caylee missing? Casey was already a ghost herself. Should we be surprised that her daughter was found in a dead, in a garbage bag? Casey was already spiritually dead and discarded herself.

I am excusing nothing that happened here, and no one who was party to it. I am simply trying to explain everything that happened as I see it.

The lesson is simply this: The roots of a child’s tragic death can always be found, but sometimes they must be traced back many generation - as much as 100 years. Such is the case in the death of Caylee Anthony.

I think Casey will love this book :twocents:
A person who says her dad did it and none of it is really her fault will writhe in exstasy when she realizes that not only did her dad do it, it was her grandparents' fault and her greatgrandfather's fault too.

Oh yeah. He's going to be the bestest author EVER to her. I love that little disclaimer towards the end when he said he wasn't absolving anyone of what happened. Oh yes you DID! You TOTALLY said it wasn't her fault but the fault of previous generations, and Casey was just a ghost, a nothing! Jeez. Casey is going to sleep with this book under her pillow!

I say it doesn't matter how screwed up the generations are, we ALL make a choice on how our lives are going to be. I come from generations of alcoholics, and guess what? I'm NOT one. I don't define myself by previous generations, and he is a HACK saying that Casey is defined by previous generations! She had a CHOICE in Caylee's death! She CHOSE to murder her! And from what I've seen, Casey didn't come from generations of murderers!!!!

I'm sure there are people that were abandoned that will be incensed by what he said. There are plenty of people abandoned who didn't end up murdering anyone! Sheesh!

There are plenty of us who were sexually molested, beaten, threatened with a gun, thrown out on the road from a moving vehicle, had our bones broken by previous generations and I can tell you that I never did harm a hair on my five children's heads. Not once...flipping nut...he should not be called a doctor.:furious::banghead:

I so much agree! I don't believe we are held hostage by our genetic markers or background. We are who we chose to make ourselves be - we are NOT beings who are helpless against our background. We always have a choice - always..

I do believe we have choices. However, I have told the story of the three sisters in my family. All abused in the same way, by the same pervert/monster. They reacted differently. Sometimes I think we are different mentally and the same trauma affects each in their individual way. IDK...what I do know is that I am nothing like my ancestors. I thank God for that. I would shoot myself if I were.

Yes, I agree - and those people who are wounded we need to cherish until they can thrive and understand they have a choice. But I agree, some lack whatever it takes to rise above their childhoods...and I honour them and hope they can learn to just set that burden down. It doesn't and shouldn't define their authentic self - and I know that's a tough one to grasp.

Me too, I'd ask you to lend me your gun if that one "had" to be true.

Myself - "I don't know 'nuthin' 'bout birthin"babies!" (Love that Butterfly McQueen quote) -------- but from what I've heard from others and how much pain - I know I wouldn't want certain folks in there as I think I might be saying curse words or things that I wouldn't want quoted later during that pain !!!!!! Pain = bad words!!!!!!! Wouldn't want those words to be quoted 20 years later or such, lol! And certainly not on tape!
