The poor girl. I'd guess he had the rear seats down? A witness saw her distressed in the car so I'd say he put the seats down to make it easier to kidnap her.

This is about the model of car he was driving.

"Boot space
With a 430-litre boot, the Qashqai can hold more luggage than a Volkswagen Golf (380 litres). Seats that fold flat and the lack of a boot lip also mean you can slide heavy items into the load bay, and it's easy to fit them in thanks to the huge boot opening."

This is a bit of a long shot, but its the same area of Ireland where the American girl Annie McCarrick disappeared in the 1990s. The suspect would have been young at the time, about 15 or 16, but that's old enough to commit a sexual crime.

I think it might be a good idea to try to track other missing people cases in the area, too. I read somewhere that he was originally from Ballybrack (I’ll need a map now, I’m based elsewhere in Europe).

Unsolved sexual attacks/abduction attempts as well.

“Gardaí make further appeal for information following the discovery of a body. They appeal for anyone who may have been in the area of Pucks Castle Lane, Murphy's Lane, Carrickgollogan Forest Recreation Area, or was in the vicinity of the Lead Mines in Kiltiernan from 6pm Saturday 19 May to 8pm Sunday 20 May who may have seen anything suspicious to contact them. They have also appealed for hillwalkers, cyclists, or anyone with dashcam footage to contact them.”

There was a number of women went missing on the east coast of Ireland during the 90s, the prime suspect has always been Larry Murphy but I suppose this guy isn't beyond the bounds of possibility either.

The remains were discovered just before lunchtime in an old mine in Kilternan, south Co Dublin.

While the remains have not been formally identified garda sources believe they are those of the missing 24-year-old.

There were no obvious signs of injuries on her body, though she was clothed and her clothes may have concealed injuries.

The young woman was murdered, probably by strangulation, on Saturday evening very shortly after being abducted from a Co Wicklow roadside, gardaí believe.

Killer Mark Hennessy rang wife to confess he kidnapped and killed missing woman Jastine Valdez
Psycho killer Mark Hennessy rang his wife to confess he had kidnapped and killed Jastine Valdez just moments before a garda shot him dead.
When gardai cornered Hennessy, 41, on Sunday he used a secret phone to tell his wife: “I’ve done something awful.” It is understood a note was found in his car hinting to where Jastine’s body was lying.
The call, from a secret or “burner phone”, was made just minutes before he was shot dead. On Saturday, a short time after abducting and murdering Jastine, he was seen out drinking in a local pub.

Another man who sees a young woman and thinks, I will have that, it will only take a few minutes, chuck her down a mine shaft and then go to pub for a few beers.

Everything about that case indicates suicide. She willingly drove herself from Clondalkim to Bray. Bray head is a common suicide spot. Her family have latched on to the fact that she didn't leave a note but most suicidal people don't leave one.

I'd guess MH has been involved in sex attacks in the past though.

RTE News are saying poor Justine died within 46 minutes of her abduction. At least it was quick.

Yesterday, we revealed that Hennessy had been on a cocaine and booze bender within hours of murdering Jastine on Saturday evening and is believed to have returned to Ballybrack in the aftermath of the shocking killing.

Hennessy was fatally shot once by a detective at Cherrywood Business Park in south Dublin on Sunday night after he threatened an unarmed garda with a knife.

This has led to an investigation by the Garda Siochana Ombudsman Commission (GSOC) which released information about the shooting last night.

Hennessy’s death was caught on camera footage from a garda traffic car at the scene.

“A garda service weapon was recovered from the scene by GSOC. The remaining ammunition and one spent cartridge was located in the firearm,” GSOC said.

“A Stanley knife was subsequently recovered from the vehicle, the Nissan Qashqai, which had been the subject of a garda alert in the preceding hours.”

GSOC confirmed that a post- mortem showed what the Herald revealed yesterday – that Hennessy was, in fact, shot in the shoulder.

“The man identified as Mark Hennessy had been shot in the shoulder, and the bullet entered his torso causing fatal injuries,” the GSOC statement added.

“The deceased was in the driver’s seat at the time of the shooting. Other wounds consistent with self-harming were noted on his body.”

Jastine Valdez family pay tribute to ‘caring daughter and friend’

In a statement, her parents said: “It has been of some comfort knowing how deeply our beautiful daughter Jastine has affected the people of Ireland.

Caring daughter and friend
“Our daughter’s plans were to settle in Ireland, buy a house here and make a new life. She was a fun-loving, wonderful, caring daughter and friend. She is always in our hearts and in the hearts of the people of Ireland,” the statement said.

Mr and Mrs Valdez thanked the emergency services, gardaí and in particular two superintendents and their liaison officer.

“They have acted with the utmost professionalism and speed to return our beautiful daughter Jastine to us,” they said.

“We also wish to acknowledge the support and sympathy of our family, friends, and the people of the Philippines, Outreach Ireland and both the Philippine and Irish Department of Foreign Affairs for their help and support.

“Finally we wish to thank the wonderful help and support given by Mark Congdon, Consul for the Philippines, for all he has done to support us during this traumatic time.”

The statement ends with the word “Salamat”, which means thank you in Filipino.
