Is George lying?

This is driving me crazy. I personally could not even imagine GA helping to dispose of or hide Caylees body. He seemed so heartbroken and so lost . However, before this ever even happened I could not imagine driving around with my child who is no longer alive in the trunk of my car. God bless poor Caylee. May the truth and ALL of it please come out in this trial.

I don't think George disposed of Caylee but I think he knew what had happened long before July 15th...I don't think he knew where she was. The place Caylee ended up was Casey's careless, thoughtless, heartless choice, it has her lack of empathy written all over it. I think if George had done it, Caylee would have been buried in some sort of proper way, certainly not in garbage bags and put into a swamp.

He probably thought the best chance Casey had was if Caylee was never found, but she wouldn't tell him where Caylee was.

Yeah, I really wonder if he did smell that smell when she gave him the gas cans but Caylee was not in there and Casey just left or handed him a garbage bag along with the cans.

After today's testimony I can honestly say I don't care if George told stories in the past...I am 100% convinced Casey killed her child and put her in the trunk of her car. There is absolutely no way that George would EVER do that to his granddaughter. No way, no how! Cover-up for Casey? IMO, not going to fly. I'm focusing on the crime at hand...the murder of Caylee Marie. All this other stuff is just fodder...the defense's ONLY shot at getting Casey Life and not the DP.
JMHO

i dont think george is lying or cindy anymore .. they have no reason to ..they arnt stupid they KNOw casey did it now ..i think that caylees father is the one who raped casey if anybody did it at all that is ..and that could be why she hated her daughter . and is so called showing symptoms of abuse ... only she cant blame him now so shes going to blame george .. sorry but no he and cindy truely loved caylee .. you just arnt going to convince me they abused her .. mabey cindy lashed out at casey bc she didnt understand why casey was the way she was towards caylee ..(of course shes not going to tell god and everyone else ) its humilating to her to have a daughter like that .. casey likes money so theres a reason she didnt go after this guy for child support .. like i said if anyone raped her ever it couldve been caylees father .. and that could very well be why he isnt coming forward ..if he isnt dead

i dont think george or cindy lied on the stand in their last testimonies .. they are finally on caylees side ..

I think the reason George remembered what Caylee was wearing that day is that it is the last picture he has of her in his mind. It was the last time he saw his precious granddaughter. Doesn't seem strange to me at all.

How did he know that would be the last day he would see Caylee?

I don't think he thought it would be the last time he'd see her. It's just that every day he thought he'd see her again, that she and Casey would be coming home. So his mind would go back to seeing them leave that last time. Then another day went by and another and another and he just kept remembering seeing her happy leaving with her mother. I hope that makes sense.

JMO.

I agree with you about Lee! There is something so off about him. He has aged about 10 years at least. A couple of days ago I was thinking that maybe him and KC were considering 'offing' the parents much like the Menendez bros. But then I see the jail house visits and he really does seem clueless. Maybe the 'plan' didn't include Caylee and he was in shock about what KC had done? I feel bad saying that if he is innocent in all this (and he probably is) but GOSH, what is up with Lee and KC?

I don't disagree about something being "off",but have an observation about the ageing. GA has solid white hair .I have family members with that trait who began turning white in their 20's.It does give the appearance of premature aging, but it's just genetics. JMO

Im a lurker mostly... I want to thank you all for your wonderful insight and just being here.

I cant hep but think George was "Hinky" at best on the stand. All of his answers (And I cant remember verbatim but...) Didnt he answer all of the questions concerning the morning of June 16. in "General" terms.... Like "I usually wake up right after Cindy "Would" leave"
"I usually give Caylee Breakfast" etc.
IMHO he never answered the question specifically about that day other that the way over the top description of what Caylee was wearing. I find it so oddd that he is so general with his answers about the happenings of the day and so specific about Caylees clothing. It doesnt fit.

I was looking @ the timeline over at A candy Rose and the general answers he gives in the first hearing ias the same and are just not sounding truthful.

From the beginning I have thought Casey killed her child, IDK if accidental drowning or something more sinister. But I do think George knows a LOT more OR he is scared that Casey knows something on him. He has always struck me as a <mod snip> but now Im thinking why is he lying.
Your thoughts?

about what?

Lol! Sometimes it helps to read the OP before you reply! :floorlaugh:

I appologise if I didn't see this particular question discussed before. Why was GA no longer a police officer? I have family member's (2) that are in law enforcement and it is not something you do in the meantime. It is a career. It would seem to me to be a real downgrade to leave the force and work private security detail in terms of benefits and long term financial security.

Some folks just aren't cut out for it and I understand this. I am just wondering why GA left?

Thanks in advance.

Take care, Robin

I have been trying to figure this out too. Also, how much actual experience does he have? How big was his jurisdiction? How many cases did her personally investigate? I have a lot of questions about his Law Enforcement days.

Wasn't he a homicide detective? It does seem like a huge step down, not just financially, but as far as self-esteem. Detective to rent-a-cop.

You can find this info upstairs in the reference thread in the depo GA had with the state. He doesn't give great details but does tell what he did over his 10 years with LE in Ohio. I cannot link as I am on my iPad.

Also in CAs state depo she tells about why she wanted GA to leave LE.

Not sure if anybody has answered this yet but here's what I know (and it's all hearsay unless someone else has proof otherwise).

Cindy MADE GA quit the force because she was afraid for his life, didn't like his long hours and wanted him to edge his way into his father's dealership because her sister-in-law's husband owned a dealership and they had lots of money. GA obeyed and went to work in his father's dealership and some time later (I don't know how long) threw his dad through a plate glass window. Then, I think GA opened a used car lot that failed. They moved to FL when KC was three years old.

It was said later, not sure if true or not, that GA's partner had been shot in the line of duty.

We know that the DT had their investigators/mitigation specialist in Ohio asking questions/investigating this history and talking to extended family members who are still in Ohio.

That's messed up, I never knew the jury doesn't know people in the courtroom are told not to show emotion.

Maybe they/JP means emotion like the kind outburst lady showed and not normal emotion.???
I didn't like the way GA looked down and stretched his lips like in a grimace before answering.
OLG thank you for your kind words.

In addition, would he let his wife suffer this much? I don't see that at all. She truly was coming unglued. Do I think she just learned of this? No. I think we saw an interview before Caylee's body was found where CA said not ONE word. She learned then that her granddaughter was dead, but she had no idea how it happened until recently.
I don't see GA doing this to Cindy- I could be wrong but I just can't see it. This was cruel to a whole other level. GA doesn't strike me as cruel.

Added: In addition, I don't think GA particular cared for KC and vice versa. I can't see KC covering for him for 3 years and he her.... She sat in jail under this threat of death penalty to help her dad cover an accident? Hmmmm Doesn't sound like our little sociopath- no way, no how.

Rumor has it that GA wiped out CA's 401K. Was that being thoughtful of his wife? Who would do that? If it was his 401K, it would still be iffy imo. That's what influences me - all of the stories add up having me believing that GA is pretty darn selfish and maybe doesn't care so much about how other peeps feel.
If he drained CA's savings, that is cruel. The second most cruelest thing imo.
Oh, and rumored affairs too.

I personally have never been convinced that GA is the one who wiped out CA's 401K. I think the whole online gambling/nigerian money scam was to cover for KC, after all, there is only one proven liar/thief from the Hopesprings Drive home that we are aware of, and that is KC. The more this trial continues, the more I am convinced the lies and thefts were all KC. i believe KC stole lots of money, murdered her daughter, lied about anything and anyone in an effort to cover it up . GA is not a liar although he may have told the story of the online gambling/money scam to cover for KC when she stole the 401 K. Covering for KC murdering his precious granddaughter Caylee Marie was never on his list of things to do. GA's pain is sincere and heart wrenching.

I don't know how important it is but:

George Anthony, 56, and his wife Cindy, 50 lived in Howland before moving to Florida in 1989. The Anthonys also have a son, Lee, who also was born in Warren.

Anthony was a Trumbull detective from 1974 until 1985 and left the sheriff’s department at that time.
