BBM. Wow. I missed this on my first scan reading of the article. So this could be Lelee who had been forced to live in Sweden under the false name Embla?
Wild story if true! And where is her mother? :(

Who knows :( What a strange story. If I am honest, I hadn't heard of Leela until now so got some reading up to do. Wonder if there had been any sightings of Leela in different countries (Sweden)

Following an emotional reunion at the Swedish Embassy, her distraught father Tahvo told MailOnline: 'She's a wreck. Embla is not herself. She is a different person. She barely talked to us.

'She wants to go back to living on the street. She doesn't want to come home.

'We want to take her back to Sweden but it is so difficult. If she were in Sweden it would be so much better.'

Breaking down in tears the 54-year-old businessman, who flew from his home in Stockholm this morning to see her, added: 'How can the [Italian] authorities let her go back in the streets. She is not well.

A very, very difficult situation. Legally she is an adult and even if she is mentally ill she can not be forced to go anywhere. I assume Italy has strict rules about admitting people for psychiatric care against their will, like most countries. Usually it is only possible if a person is a danger to themselves or others, and choosing to be homeless would not be classed as being a danger to oneself.

It's very up and down actually. Yes it's speculation but thats making it up and down.....

Another article with more pictures: https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/22477...ystery-ends-with-her-refusing-to-return-home/

According to that she refused to speak with the people claiming to be her parents and she would not go with them. Also, minor detail but does it look like she has had a manicure recently? Her nails look clean and polished for someone living on the streets for months.

She looks to have washed her hair during her time in protective custody. Her natural lighter blonde hair colour is showing now that her hair is clean. Another sign that she is indeed Embla.

All the doubtful points written in this article http://victimsnewsonline.com/2016/11/has-mystery-girl-been-wrongfully-identified/
were properly answered and published previously in http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...h-six-month-search-arrives-Italy-reunion.html posted up thread by Rayemonde.

Her mother is right there (divorced her father 13 years prior and Embla lived with her father since).
They did not find her in any school in Rome, well, because she took short summer course in Southern Italy.
Her father and mother both flew into Rome next day after being informed by their cousin who saw her pic on FB.

It is a bit wild article and it does fuel people imagination but I do agree that her identity should be proven not just by word of mouth. I am also sure they will double check her ID thoroughly now that it became higher profile case.

Aw :( I feel so sorry for this young lady. She is obviously struggling. I hope she can get back to herself.

Was a DNA ever conducted?

I have not read anything about DNA being taken. I really think they should though. It's so odd she did not say a word of Swedish. I wonder if she admitted to being Embla in English but said she didn't want to talk to her parents? Or is she mostly non-verbal and it's hard to tell what is going on? I'm glad she is being watched in a hospital but I hope they can bring in a Specialist of some kind to help her (maybe one who speaks English since that is the language she is using mostly).

I get the impression she is alost non verbal. Although I could be wrong. She doesn't seem to have revealed much.

Was the statement that she said she was British just hear-say?

All the reports I have read said she told police she was British and her name is Maria, but I have not seen a direct quote from Police. Perhaps if we could find Italian publications and translate them there would be more info than the English papers are sharing? IDK.

Here is what is in most sources:
Mystery surrounded the well-spoken blonde woman who told police her name was Maria and that she was British, after she was found sleeping rough in a piazza in central Rome.

A little odd it used the word "well-spoken" if she is mostly non-verbal.

More on the name Maria, it's not the only one she told police:
Those who have met the girl, who is around 5ft tall, said she was polite and did not speak Italian.
They added that she would answer to the name 'Maria' - but police say that's one of many names she has told them.
http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/blonde-homeless-woman-found-rome-9311143I wonder what other names she said?

Also from the Mirror article above is a link to an Italian TV show that aired her picture when they were trying to identify her: http://www.chilhavisto.rai.it/dl/cl...Set-bf5c5a74-8b10-463a-9741-cbce7fa2f7aa.html

Tahvo Jauhojarvi told Mail Online: “Embla took all of the photographs of her from the family albums and off the walls before she disappeared. She cut up her library card into pieces....

Tahvo told The Sun Online yesterday that Embla was “a wreck” as she refused to speak to them in her mother tongue, answering only in English or Italian...

Tuesday night Italian police had confirmed her identity, saying they were also providing her with accommodation.

“She is in good health but we are doing health checks and are giving her accommodation for the moment in Rome. They haven’t had contact with her in a few months.”

They had spoken to her previously, though at that time she didn’t want to be identified and claimed she was British and called Maria...

So many questions... Did she recognise her parents? I'm guessing she did, and acknowledged them as her parents but didn't want to return home with them. So she's probably not lost her memory.

It sounds like she was functioning better before she left home. And she has had some kind of breakdown. I hope that now she is hospitalised, with appropriate care and medication her mental state will improve and she will be able to make lucid decisions about her future.
