Low levels of radiation found in US milk

Quote: The Environmental Protection Agency and the Food and Drug Administration say that very low levels of radiation have turned up in a sample of milk from Washington state. But federal officials say consumers should not worry.

Ok - here's a question. How do you get radiation OUT OF food and/or milk? Is there a way to do it? I think we all need to get to researching on this. There has to be a way.

I honestly don't think there is a way...

When doing all my reading/watching about Chernobyl it was stated by several experts that a lot of the radiation causing health concers such as cancer and birth defects came from the milk the people continued to drink....
I am going to say it was in the video that showed the 2 headed baby :(

They said a lot of people could have been spared had they been warned not to drink the tainted milk :(

6 mos ago, I was deemed infertile. ( after having 3 wonderful kiddos, I cannot complain)But I have kept that glimmer of hope, and now, I think I don't want to risk it...... This nuc crap scares the begeesus outta me!!!!

I swear my emotions are going from tears to fury!! I'm not reassured by anything said by any official and I don't trust any of the "don't worry" statements!! God help us all!!

Please take the time to listen to Jeff Ruch!!

I'm thinking of the impact on small children. They NEED milk for developing bones and teeth. But several glasses of milk per day, going into such a small body, the effect of contamination would be much more severe than for an adult. (Think what would happen if a 3-4 year old received an adult dose of meds, several times a day, for an extended period of time).

I found these 2 so far. Not quite sure what they're saying though. I'm hoping I'm right that IRradiation means to "get rid of" radiation.

And this one - but it did come up as an advertisement - they are selling the service of testing for raditaion.

Nope irradiation means the same thing as radiation. Irradiation is when they meant to do it, radiation is when it happens by accident. For example, radiation got to our cows, but they have been irradiating some fruits and vegetables for years to kill insects.

Powdered milk...that's all I'm gonna say there. Keeps forever, higher in nutrients, lowerin radiation. Does a body good.

The State of Michigan has become the 15th to record trace amounts of the specific kind of radiation that has escaped from the Tsunami damaged nuclear reactors in Japan.

Low levels, don't worry, blah, blah, blah. (My home state.)

And I don't care how much they tell me not to worry, I have three children under the age of 6, and one that hasn't even been born yet...I'm gonna worry. Deal with it.

Tests of Pacific Ocean water showed radiation levels caused by Iodine-131, suspected to be from the quake-damaged Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant in northeast Japan, had jumped to 4,385 times the legal limit, Japanese nuclear and industrial safety agency officials said Thursday. The water samples were collected Wednesday, CNN reported

And
On March 31, a 6,2 magnitude earthquake hit Miyagi prefecture in Japan.

The quake epicenter was 126 km north-east of Sendai town at a depth of 39,6 kilometers. No tsunami warning was issued, RBK reports.

I have sent gifts of Omaha Steaks to my friends in Canada, and certain things,(I think its the burgers?),Canada will not allow because they have been irradiated. Food for thought.

Radiation Found In Michigan Air Sample
Low Concentrations Found

POSTED: Thursday, March 31, 2011
UPDATED: 8:42 am EDT March 31, 2011

Officials in Michigan say analysis of an air sample has detected very low levels of radiation that's believed to be from a damaged nuclear power complex in Japan. The state announced Wednesday that the "very low concentrations" of radioactive Iodine-131 found in a routine sample taken Monday in Lansing pose "no health threat to residents." Officials at the state Department of Community Health say the "scant levels" are thousands of times less than what would lead them to recommend any sort of protective action. Japan's Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear power complex began leaking radiation after it was damaged by a devastating earthquake and tsunami earlier this month. Minute amounts of radiation have spread as far as the U.S. East Coast.

I told bf this morning we're going to stock up on powdered milk. I don't know what we're going to mix it with... Maybe I'll just have the kiddos eat it...

Remember a few days ago I-131 was detected in PA rainwater? Yeah, I believe "they" stated that it was a non-issue since we don't drink rainwater... I have to wonder where the he77 the water in our reservoirs come from.

I don't even want to buy bottled water to mix Reeser's formula. Guess "they" filtered the radioactivity out of that water?

 at the thought of radioactive milk.

Radiated dogs are in the basement after they went out in the rain to go to the bathroom.

New warning as Munch went out the door to the bus: " Keep your hood up to keep the radioactive rain off your skin. Do not under any circumstances try to catch the rain with your tongue. Don't drink from the water fountain at school. I love you!"

Tonight's forecast is 5-8 inches of perfectly safe radioactive snow.

We're starting a journal so things aren't forgotten years down the road. Not that reminding anyone of Fukishima will get us anywhere if the kids grow up and develop thyroid cancer.

I apologize. I'm on a rant this morning... Anything and everything may set me off, at completely safe levels of course.
