And when did that secrecy searching start?
Because I'm concerned that someone in power in the island or mainland Spain may have seen a specialist search team coming from abroad and realise if they found him quickly it'd damage the island reputation, if a forgein group went out and found him quickly, when they couldn't.
And him being found close to the ping speaks volumes about possible lack of searching, why couldn't dogs have found him. (Before today)

It would be understandable if they were, it's interesting that they were able to stop any hint of it getting out with so many people taking an interest

A tragic, but Occam's Razor conclusion of misadventure. The saddest thing about this case has been all the wild, fanciful speculation. Suppositions repeated so often, some accept them as fact.

Young man goes partying - insert drugs - and friends giving inconsistent testimonies to disguise *cough* " other activities that they don't want a light shining on - like any other young persons of their age when holidaying.

Cue wild speculations and hilarious going off on a tangent theories. The truth was just misadventure. It happens to young partying people, older doctors ( sadly ) and hikers of all ages.

Never underestimate wild terrain and the heat. It kills many every year, for many that underestimate it - and even those that don't.

RIP Jay. We've all done stupid stuff when younger. Deepest condolences to his family.

Tnank you, so those were the dogs belonging to the Dutch team, they weren't the ones who found him, they just happened to start their search on the day the Spanish searchers found him, two separate groups.There weren't any dogs in the area Jay was found as far as any reports go

This is what i'd also like to know. It was inaccesible. So how was it accessed to discover him? (apologies if post breaks a rule)

I was wondering the same, did they have some extra information that led to the continuation of the secret searching? Otherwise it could have been a never ending task

I wonder if the Spanish police were able to find jay today because of those dogs presence though, if he looked further down the path of where the dogs seemed to be heading towards.
The dogs started at the ping site. And were heading on a trail well. And then Spanish police suddenly found jay further down towards the sea..

Maybe, interesting if so that the Spanish dogs that were used earlier on weren't able to pick up what would have been a much fresher scent.

There is a very good video on the tube by DTR showing the walk from the Casa, down the track, past the cottages and to the end of the track and beyond that J supposedly took, which I believe corresponds with carbuncle69 map.

I’m sure I read the Spanish used cadaver dogs in the earlier searches, so they wouldn’t specifically have been sniffing for Jay and would need to be nearer a dead body to alert.

I'd like to know either Spanish police used dogs trained to follow Jay's scent at all.

Sadly not a surprising end and of course many unanswered questions. Will be interesting if we get to hear what evidence MWT has.

I think the use of a winch just shows how far he must’ve fallen.

I hope his mum takes some comfort in the fact he likely knew nothing from the impact.

That plane journey home for her will be an awful one - she’s been scrutinised and in some ways vilified throughout this which was totally unfair and unjustified IMO
