The question in flourish's post wasn't about whether or not there was dirty laundry, but, instead, how you know he would be happy to air it if there were any. I'm pretty sure that flourish would have addressed me directly and not through you, if that were the case. How do you, in fact, know that he would be happy to air any dirty laundry if there were any? She only called him once? Hmmmmm. Never heard from her again after one phone call? He did state he tried to reach her but was unsuccessful. Maybe Terry was in a relationship with someone else at the time and didn't want them to find out? Maybe he's not revealing all the details of their affair for a reason? Maybe to save her embarrassment? Maybe he's not such a crumb since a crumb would go into detail about any connection to Jaycee, his only connection to her is a months long fling with her mom, wouldn't a crumb be all over telling all the dirty details of the love affair that produced Jaycee Lee Dugard? In a high profile case such as this, you would have to practically be in a coma to not want a "TOP DOG LAWYER" as you call her. Do you have any idea what it's like to be hounded by the media? Do you have any idea how scary that would be without a renowned legal team? He didn't lawyer up because he's a "crumb", as you refer to him, he did it out of necessity. You can rant but you still have no hard evidence to back up what you're saying.

I think it is just her opinion so let's move on.

It could be that he is older and matured and recognizes how precious children are. Maybe he just wants to try and know her. I don't think that is outrageous.
The guy won't be able to win. If he did not make any effort to try and see or know her he would be criticized. if he tries to get in her life he will be criticized.
But none of us truly know what his motivation is. maybe it is publicity, maybe it is family, maybe it is passing, maybe he is a jerk. Time will tell and we will see.
i would suspect that Jaycee will ask about him in her own time and maybe he wants to be on record as wanting to know her. I hope he lets her take control and the fact that he is trying to find physically her and set up a meeting is a little unsettling to me, because it is not about him, it is about Jaycee.

I hope he is motivated by good, but there is no way of knowing.

Exactly...But a good gesture like I said can be done in so many ways.
What he is doing is not a good gesture. And forcing it certinly is not.
He could have stayd in the background for some time.

I think you misunderstood what flourish was asking... We both want to know if you can share the links that state Mr. Slayton would be happy to air any dirty laundry if he had any? Where are all the links to back up your accusations of him? Do you know him, personally, in order to make such harsh statements against his character? I just want the facts, that's all. Share them with us.

BTW, your linking my post in your post only cements the last sentence of that post... You can rant but you still have no hard evidence to back up what you're saying.:thumb:

Not really a response to your specific question, but
just to play devil's advocate consider this and maybe some food for thought.
perhaps he respected Terry's presumed wish to stay out of their lives and not complicate things for jaycee at that time because they did not stay together. Maybe that WAS the correct thing to do, sometimes it is. Some have said here that terry seem to embrace raising her alone and perhaps she wanted it that way. I know several women that did not want the bio father involved. right or wrong, none of us can say. but I repsect Terry's decisions as correct for her and her daughter.
Then once she was kidnapped and presumably dead he was faced with the truth that he never even bothered to know his own daughter and this has been heavy on his heart maybe forever changed his life.
then he was unbelievably given a second chance by virtue of Jaycee being found alive so he is going to move mountains to meet her and wants to do anything and everything he can to make sure she knows he is ther for her. Is it ever too late? Don't know. Maybe he wants to everything he didn't do before.

Obviously many of us are putting our own life experience in interpreting his behaviors. So, this is a reasonable possibility imo. However, my dad may have created an optimist, but he did not create a dummy LOL.

But as I say I don't know what to think at this point and am running all kinds of possiblities through my mind. I do know that if this is about him then he should go back to being absent.
FWIW, I don't think he really is a grandfather or father in anyway except biology at this point.

Well, I listened to an interview with him and Glo and it didn't sound like that LOL. , do you know if he actually could try and force a paternity test?
I don't know if staying out of Jaycee's life was selfless or selfish. But I assume that Terry knows.
I think given a second shot at some mistakes I made in my life, I would jump at it. But I would not do it with Glo that's for sure.

And JBean, I do not think that you would be so insensitive to timing either.
He could have made his wish known with a rep. and then step away for a little while.

Is there another video, or what? The printed remarks are totally appropriate, and it make a big difference to me whether or not legal action was threatened.

Actually, I have heard in both public statements, Glo clearly state that DNA testing can be done "in a private and confidential manner at whatever time is most appropriate for JC". I have not heard in either statement the mention of taking legal action to obtain DNA, however. Also, he's not making "so much noise", as you say. We haven't heard from him or Glo in over a week. This silence speaks volumes to me.

IMO the public posturing wasn't aimed at Jaycee so much, it looked more like it was to outflank the other family and to rattle their cage. Because both sides have lawyers (neither of which would have an emotional interest in the case), these issues could easily be solved directly and discretely.

this has been a huge sticking point for me cause it says alot......was this quote from the lawyer made up by the media, or did she just say it off camera?

Seems that Gloria A. is looking for a biker guy - she loves the bikers and their leather look.
It kind of surprised me, I thought she had more of a classic look going..
