Will someone be so kind as to suggest what forum would be appropriate to discuss the following topic: Does anyone think it is weird that JM was found on the Bolivar Peninsula where Dean Corll (serial killer from the 70's) used to bury his victims???

No, lots of strange folk go to that beach. Well known for it.

Dean though buried his victims in a boat shed there. Not all of them though, he was from the area and buried them at different places near there.

Jlm was just there to hide

Maybe he wasn't smart enough to figure it out, but once in Mexico, then what! Eat, work, live. Where?

Can anyone verify the date of the alleged rape at LU (the one JM was implicated in but not charged for)? I read in one MSM article that it was October 17th, 2002. That date struck me as eerie considering MH disappeared on October 17, 2009.

Can you imagine how the victim at LU is going to feel if it turns out JM has indeed been raping and murdering numerous women in the last 12 years? It makes my stomach hurt just thinking about it...

I think we should not mention her in that context.

Keswick is only 17 miles away per google maps. Not that far at all!!

No it's not. My point was that it's farther than where he lives right now, so to me, it doesn't seem to be a valid "clue", if you will. Hope that makes sense.

Several thoughts...

IF JM is responsible for MH then I expect the October 17th date is merely a coincidence. Even though it fell on a Saturday in 2009 (prime party night in most towns) it's difficult to imagine that it was planned, seeing how most crimes like these are based on opportunity.

Also, is it known to us if any DNA was collected from MH's remains? I don't know enough about it, but it seems like that much time in the elements would have greatly deteriorated anything present. If that is the case and the only DNA in that case is from her tshirt, then it seems like it will be harder to legally link that evidence to her assailant.

Finally, is it plausible that DNA results from JM's apartment (toothbrush, etc) have possibly hit a match on the MH case and prompted the warrant for the "abduction with intent to defile"?

I'm trying to review all the data objectively and not draw conclusions based on circumstantial evidence between these cases, but I feel that in regards to Hannah, JM's flight to Texas doesn't seem like the actions of an innocent man.

In any case, I truly find it unthinkable that anyone chose to violate these young women (or anyone for that matter). I sincerely hope that all of these families can find justice in these cases and that these dangerous people are removed from society. I know the empathy I feel thinking of these young women when reviewing the evidence presented here and that it is NOTHING compared to the pain and loss these families feel.

All of this is my opinion of course.

Hum, I don't know if you meant it the way I picked it up, but no-one can really put any responsibility on that victim. Many rape victims don't tell the police (or indeed anyone) that they have been raped. It's every woman's perogative to decide what to do in that situation. The only one responsible for JM's actions is JM.

Does anyone know how long it takes to get DNA results, I'm very interested to see if the three cases are connected, as well as the rest of the sleuthers on here I'm sure. Just wondering if he has been "hiding in plain sight" as the Harrington's stated. They did say that it was an AA male who attacked MH correct? I also thought I read that they thought more than one person attacked Morgan, does anyone know if that's true. Thanks ... I hope today is the day they find Hannah.

I don't think anyone would put blame on her, but I think she would struggle personally with guilt, even though she shouldn't! It is no ones fault when someone hurts another person...but just like her, I imagine the lawyer would feel guilty too for dropping charges. Not that they should, I just think it's an inherently human trait especially in situations like this. If he is linked to these other crimes I hope they are able to cope and realize that his actions are not a result of theirs.

And good question about the DNA on the shirt, that would be hard to explain but I'm sure a decent lawyer could shed reasonable doubt on that, however if DNA of hers was in his apartment or some other memento it would be very hard to explain away.

Yes it matches the Fairfax rape, and that's known to be an AA male.

YIKES!! I hadn't heard that before. It is definitely creepy!!!

No, he is huge in that photo.

It might be the over-sized clothing that makes him look bigger - hard to say.
In 2002, he was 215lbs. Today, he's 270lbs. Taxi photo from 2007.

I thought the DNA (which matched the Fairfax rapist) was collected from the shirt that was found near the apartments, not from her remains found at the farm.

can anyone fill me in on the Fairfax rape? I didn't follow Morgan Harrington's case, but I'm caught up on the quick facts---I think. I know nothing about the Fairfax victim and circumstances, however.

The DNA came from Morgan's body, not the shirt. It's been posted here a number of times that Morgan's shirt is connected to the Fairfax rape, but the two cases are connected because DNA was found on Morgan's body - even after she had been in the field for four months.

"Investigators will only say that forensic evidence ties the suspect to Morgan Harrington's abduction and murder in Charlottesville. But Harrington's parents confirmed this afternoon it was DNA found on Morgan that matches the suspect in the Fairfax case."
