Most of us are in agreement that the defense already opened that door because the defense attorney already asked her what happened just today and she said yes she killed him in self defense. She didnt add much more details and then the attorney said lets take a step back. But he already asked today.

Oh, how I hope you're right!

While I agree that money and the good life constitute the big story in JA attraction to TA sex is a prime mover in this story too.
My hunch is that there was relatively little prohibited sex going in the Mesa Single;s ward. Most of these people at “Family Home Evening” and the “camp outs” were chaste.
TA and Mormon sexual practices – are best characterized as ordinary and unimaginative - (just my guess based on the impression from girls that testified).
The Bishops interview of men seeking temple recommends will delve into sexual practices – in detail if single and in general if married.
If you heard the Brothern (General Authorities) from SLC speak during General Conference or at BYU in Provo UT you would know that :
“pornographic sex” is strictly to be avoided. By this I mean - anal sex, ménage a trois, use of dildos( is probably discouraged by the Bishoprics since it degrades the sacred act of intercourse) The practice of bondage also degrades the sacrosanct nature of intercourse. It is likely that Bishops will discourage oral sex to all temple supplicants since for many orthodox Mormons the sex act is really for the purpose of procreation.
If the Mesa Bishop knew the content and context of TA’s sexual conduct with JA – even based on June 4 2008 serious repentance would be in store. TA would be placed on probation for probably a year where during that time he would have to be 100% chaste. The Mesa Bishop would have been aggrieved about anal sex, oral sex, and TA’s bondage practices, his use of phone sex for purposes of mutual masturbation in addition to the consternation engendered by TA’s apparent “booty call” behavior resulting in garden variety coitus.

BBM

we don't know if there was any bondage practices - jodi is the only one who has said that - and i wouldn't believe me if she told me the grass was green

She's cunning ... a cunning, jealous rage murderer, sweet and then 0-60 flip switch, like Joran van der Sloot.

Maybe that's what her parents tried to do through art, music and sports ... and eventually private school.

It seems that nothing worked with her from an early age. I didn't follow the early part of the trial, but did I read that she bonked her brother on the head with a baseball bat? Did anyone post that or am I imagining things?

It has been reported that she did hit her brother with a bat. But as of yet, nobody knows for sure if it was wooden or a plastic whiffle type.

Although if it was a whiffle bat, I doubt it would be mentioned or even remembered decades later.

one of the talking heads on HLN today said she was prolly testifying early rather than the end - like is usually done - is so the experts can tailor their testimony to match jodi's version of what happened - i think that might be true - because imo when she tells stories that no one will know where she is going to go w/ it - not even her own attys

I so agree. I watched the tape DVR of her again and I really think she was making up some stuff on the fly. She herself probably didnt know where she was going to go with some of it.

I think her approach uses a basis of truth, and then she twists it around and embellishes it to her flavor of things.

All JMO.

You heard right. Cant remember where either, but she definitel clonked her brother on his head.

During testimony, she says she got "held back" in kindergarten. She said that herself. Off to a bad start since kindergarten. LOL

it was an old babysitter who NG interviewed on her show - IIRC i think the sitter was around 14 and jodi was around 7 and she hit her brother w/ a bat in the head - but not what kind or how hard - and NG has just run w/ it and now keeps saying he was beaten w/ a bat - which imo is starting to get me po'd - cuz there is sooo much truth of what NG can say about jodi that she really doesn't need to embelish storied like that - all it does is confuse the situation and doesn't keep on point about the truly bad things she's done in her life - like some one might think if NG is exaggerating this story so much - maybe everything else she says is exaggerated too

Good Morning!

Is everybody ready for more of Jodi Arias histrionics this morning?

I am not sure I can listen to her drone on all day! :banghead:

The jury and us sat through her interrogation, where she droned on and on and on....with lies and innane anecdotes. I'm sure it will more of the same today.

Yes, but I am hesitant to bring up what I think. But here goes.

I know a female who was 18 when I met her. Homeless. Living in a car. Pregnant.

She was adopted as an infant by wealthy parents.

Here is what one of her main complaints was about her incredibly cruel parents. Get ready with Jodi hankies, which never get wet.

Her parents never taught her how to cook, clean, nor do laundry. She had no clue of what to do now that she was going to get an apartment.

She , too, was an exchange student in another country learning Spanish while in high school

I spent time with her, but she was not on my case load. Rather, she was with the co worker and we would do things together with the families we worked with, so I would see her in action.

I won't go into it, but I was fascinated by her lack of human understanding.

I think in her case it was probably an attachment thing at birth. Could be with JA as well. Close in age children. Not enough time to give to JA.

Doesn't matter except that we do know what makes children thrive and we do know what things are harmful. Does not excuse her, but that is why there is information out there on holding your child; do not prop a bottle on a pillow to feed your child; respond to your infant's cries; do not keep them in containers. Car seats, infant seats, play pens, etc.

Other things as well such as reading to your child.

I have to throw these things in because I do not want to see all of the killings, abuse, etc that we see out there.

All humans crave love and validation. All.

Fascinating post and appreciate your insights. Thanks! :twocents:

Who knew that a step back meant "I had an unhappy childhood."

Realistically, she has no other defense than "my parents beat me" and "he made me do it", like a poor little victim scouring the crowd for the next victim.

I tried not to read about this story, so I could try to be an objective observer.
Hubby followed every bit of info he could get his eyes on.
I kept asking him "does he think that in the 4 + years she has been in prison,That perhaps she has matured, or evolved. That she is not the same person anymore?"
He always said "yes people change, but not this one"

I was willing to give her a shot at explaining herself..After she opened her mouth it was over. It sounded so lame. Throw momma from the train,Push dad under a bus.
I think for sure today, she is gonna say the dog took the knife and gun and buried them..
Shaking my head..

I'm really intrigued by hte part that she was held back in kindergarten.....who gets held back at such an early age and for what reason?

Like maybe she was thinking that she would let him live if he gave her the right answer (that he wouldn't take the nice mormon girl on a vacation to Mexico)? She went there with a knife and a gun in a disguised car with no trace of her traveling ... showed up at 4:10 AM, planted youtube links on his computer, seduced him and murdered him because he was not going to take her on vacataions ... she is not marriage material, and never will be.

That Dr Drew character should realize that if Travis hadn't planned to take a nice Mormon girl to Mexico, Jodi Arias would not have murdered him ... it had nothing to do with answering the front door. Is Drew taking queues from Nancy Grace or what?

I'm really intrigued by hte part that she was held back in kindergarten.....who gets held back at such an early age and for what reason?

Sometimes, when children paint in all black, they are flagged. Children are also sometimes held back because they are not socially appropriate for their age ... that makes them one year older and socially appropriate or children with corrected personalities ... or children that are held back for no good reason. Given the amount of trouble that Arias was in from the age of 5 or 7, it doesn't surprise me that she is on trial for murder.

She appreciated nothing.

I think too many....

Yes I used a belt and paddle on my children when necessary, as did my parents with me and my five siblings. Only on the butt. My children are now 44 and 42, I could take them anywhere in public when they were little, they were well behaved, they have never been in trouble with the law, they both have children, they are responsible loving parents, their children make good grades as they did. They are loving, caring, never abused or stalked anyone. My siblings all turned out good too. The oldest is 78 years old and still active and works!

These sniveling, liberal parents who cannot correct their children except to give them "a time out" and defend them of every thing they do wrong and teach them that nothing is their fault.....I feel sorry for those children.

I believe Jodi lied through her teeth. And if her mother falls on the sword and witnesses for Jodi, I will believe it is a lie. She certainly didn't teach her responsibility, did she? Another Casey Anthony.

I am of the belief that children come into this world with a predisposition to behave in certain ways. So while I DO believe in spanking or whipping as you might call it, and while many other parents do NOT believe that way, i also believe there are many people who do wrong because it was born in them to do so. Environment cannot be that big a factor. We make decisions every single day based on our moral compass. Jodi Arias doesn't have one.

I sure wish I could follow this trial but work prevails. I try to read as much as I can here but sometimes there is so much I can't get it all in.

Good Morning :seeya: are we ready for more of Jodi's bs? Unfortunately I don't think we will see Juan's cross until tomorrow...at the least :furious:

Jodi can't even fool an 11 yr. old :D: My son came home from school yesterday, when I was watching her on the stand, and he watched her for a bit....then looked at me and said "Mama what's wrong with that lady, she's acting so weird" lol.

I wanted to tell him she was a psycho b**ch, but I would never do that :innocent:
