...does anyone think that Eddie lee might be complicit ?

She admitted that is where she had her nails done and told JM it took a couple of hours because they were busy. Don't think she intended to drive back to Darryl's. She took off with something belonging to him, it appears. jmo

Would you wait a couple of hours just to get your nails done if you were "anxious" to get on the road? Yet another lie...

Without going into details I have a child who had some legal issues when she was a teenager. Did I abandon her and make her deal with it on her own? No. I attended all of her court procedures with her.

The difference is, once I got to the bottom of what happened and fully understood what she was guilty of I MADE her accept responsibility for her actions and admit to everything that she did to her attorney and the judge - so that she could also accept her punishment.

IMO that is what a mom with good moral values does when their child does bad things in order to teach your child the difference between right and wrong and why we need to follow the rules.

She is now an upstanding citizen who has given me the greatest joy ever...my grand.

She is lucky to have you as her mom! Very lucky!

Yes, but it is clearly not all brown like it was in June 2008. And I don't believe that picture was taken in May 2008, either, but if it was, and if that's what her hair looked like when she rented the car, then she dyed it before she got to Travis'.

I'm confused as to the issue of her hair being colored. I thought the receipts were entered into evidence that show she bought 2 boxes of hair coloring along the way to murder Travis.

She also mentions/admits that her hair was brown when she went to Travis's house in the interview with Flores.

:waitasec:

It would probably take me sitting through the trial and all the evidence before I'd accept my son was guilty of something so horrid.... Jodi's mother doesn't know all of the evidence. Her daughter is facing death. I don't envy her and I'm not ready to judge.

I'm one of those people that uses humor to hide pain and tears. Even in extreme situations when my arm was broken and looked like the letter z... I was cracking jokes... Well, after the morphine drip.... I was funnier;)

She does know her daughter has admitted to killing Travis and the method in which he was killed. I would be horrified that my child could be capable of such brutality.

I am quite certain that she believes Jodi entirely was forced to commit such an act. However, what I abhor most is the selling of the letters and further, the artwork. There's support and then there's blind denial that hurts others - namely, Travis' family.

(Needless to say I'm hardly impartial - while I do have some empathy for Jodi's Mom, but much more so her family, I also see way too much of my ex-MIL's denial and abuse by proxy too. I'm certain that's coloring my opinion.) JMO

Apparently the 2008 convention in Oklahoma was some time in March before March 18, according to this person's post about it:

http://sarahandtim.wordpress.com/2008/03/18/oklahoma-city-convention-2008/

Yep - Mar 13-15, 2008, here's Pre-Paid Legal’s Annual International Convention 2008 in Oklahoma City info & reg form:

http://shamrockdesign.com/sitesOffline/teamfi/documents/news/Registration.pdf

ETA: JA testified she dyed her hair brown on 3/20, prior to moving from Mesa to Yreka and after the above convention.

Went thru something similar with my youngest son when he was in high school. He and some other students stole some money from the band hall. When I found out we made him pay it back and apologize. The other students were not held accountable and went on the get in further trouble. My son now has a degree in criminal justice and is a very responsible adult and wonderful parent. I will love my children no matter what, but will always hold them accountable for their actions!

And making them accountable when they do something wrong (and kids DO things LOL) but what you do as a parent is why they learned these lessons, and why they will be good teachers when their children get into a bit of a jam.

this may have been answered but during the questioning jm read the texts from ta to ja. does anyone know what the text that said did you use my phone without asking? what was that all about?

Did JA spend the night on the 21st? The same day she claims she saw these pictures. Also, funny Travis asks about his phone and after JA replies and asks why twice, he doesn't answer her for 11 minutes. hmm

I'm reallllly hoping Jodi's defense team didn't hire the same jury consultants as Casey A's defense team. I can't imagine sitting in that court room as her family members have. Seeing her gaping meat flaps, hearing lie after lie, listening to her sex talk and reading her sexting...and of course there has to be a twisted and *advertiser censored*-stained inclusion of fundamentalist religion. I can't say I feel sorry for her parents because she apparently was never guided properly as to NOT develop her rabid level of lying and glaring lack of empathy. Dishonesty left unhindered can lead to this sort of malignant presentation. Really classic sociopathic/criminal thinking.

Well the parents managed to bring up 3 other kids who seem to be fairly normal - not murderers anyway.

JA is just a freak of nature - a 12 sigma deviation from the norm.

Ok carrying this Minor4th post over and please forgive me if this has all been asked and answered:

Just listened to the testimony about Matt and Darryl on the murder trip. Here's the sequence of events:

1. She spent the night with Matt on June 2

2. Went to Darryl's morning of June 3 for breakfast - Matt did not go with her

3. After Darryl's she went to Salinas (20-30 min away) to get her nails done, but she said it took a long time - she was in Salinas for "a few hours". She testified that she had to go to Salinas anyway to get on the highway. She says the place could have also done hair, but she doesn't remember. Doesn't remember the name. I'm pretty sure Juan knows exactly what place it is.

4. After a few hours in Salina, she went back to Darryl's house to return something - she says she does not remember this, but indicates that Darryl remembers it. Didn't say what she returned to Darryl.

Ok so it's looking like she went and got her hair dyed. And IF she went back to Darryl's, he would have seen her hair go from platinum to brown, right? He was not asked about hair color was he? If not, why not?

What about this #4? Assuming she's lying and fabricating this detail to serve herself then why would this be? Why add this in to her story? What do you think this means?

All i know for sure is... I don't ever have to condone a loved ones actions to love them. nothing could ever make me stop loving my son and standing by him. It doesn't mean I'm supporting the act. KWIM?

Exactly. I could never abandon one of my children. I think I would have advised them to just beg for mercy long before now.

And making them accountable when they do something wrong (and kids DO things LOL) but what you do as a parent is why they learned these lessons, and why they will be good teachers when their children get into a bit of a jam.

Sorry, I don't think a wooden spoon caused Jodi to be a murdering psychopath. Sometimes, evil is simply born.

Does anyone remember the name of the guy that Jodi met with, whose parents also owned a restaraunt when she was growing up in Yereka...?
It was mentioned briefly by Juan, but I can't remember if she met him in salinas or not.
I think there may be more to the restaraunt biz than we know...and this guy from her past...where does he fit into all of this?
Just wondering.. :)
Thanks.

Eddy Lee, I think.

Would you wait a couple of hours just to get your nails done if you were "anxious" to get on the road? Yet another lie...

Especially when she'd be passing all kinds of cities along the way with walk in nail places on every corner that would require no wait and might coincide with her wanting to take a driving break. I call BS on this one. I think Salinas is where "Murderer Jodi" starting driving the train.

it will look pretty weird if she shifts into that mode now. problem for her is, i don't think she's capable of it. i think that's where the true psychopath in her shows up the best---she has to be in control at all times, even now, when it would serve her interest much better to act just the opposite.

Exactly--it seems she cannot back down from a confrontation even if it serves her--and we're talking about saving her life here. She seems to find a direct challenge irresistible. Makes sense that she confronted "Bianca", and the Hughes, and Lisa ( via email). Can you imagine all the "Travis, we need to talk" conversations travis had to put up with. How draining.
