The word "jealousy" is a hot button. Jodi is completely made up of frothy green jealousy that bubbles out of her wonders.

She wants to be seen as being chased by Travis. The more Juan reveals her stalker jealous nature the better this is going to get.

You are exactly right. I was much struck early in her defense testimony about how she was fine with Travis supposedly using her for sex that didn't appeal to her but she freaked out with jealousy because a drunken woman started to hang all over him and Travis was amused about it instead of immediately pushing her away. That was very telling.

I used to think she would cry... but now I think she will flat out say he deserved it!
She never got emotional in any of her flores interviews... that is where you also saw the cunning come out to play. She is not going to show emotion up there now... because Juan is going to mix it up so she cannot plan it like an event like she did with the defense.

:twocents:

IMHO...

You can't question a psychopath's account, obviously disbelieving it, without getting under their skin. They don't like people not automatically falling for tips and tricks they've literally spent their whole lives honing.

Especially when those ploys have always worked prior. JME

I am bewitched bedazzled and amazed! She is scary good at this. Seriously scary she is.
I get the sense her own attornies are rather mesmerized by the banter between Arias & Martinez ... I know I am. It's fascinating to get a glimpse into the world, mind and thought process of someone like Arias. She has such a 'menacing air' about her ... it gives me the creeps.

I think Juan's strategy is to restore Travis' reputation to the jury first, based upon all the lies she has told on the stand. That is the basis for her defense and I think Juan feels compelled to do that for the family.

Once the lies have been exposed, then he can begin tearing her apart based on the actual events that transpired on 6/4/08

What a piece of work. Incorrigible, obstinate, inveterate liar who totally rejects and refuses to acknowledge the truth. I can just imagine what her parents and teachers were put through when she was younger, oppositional-defiant disordered delinquent from hell. Now, a fully developed psychopath, imo.

WOW, I watched a few minutes of the trial on my phone and JA is one arrogant piece of work. I do think that she is getting under Juan's skin though.

Dang, how many pairs of glasses does she have? I only have one pair.

Please God, let her come crashing down!!!

She wasn't shaking like a leaf, looking scared, fearful, weak. She was arrogant haughty deliberately making things difficult and I believe rather enjoying herself.

My husband just asked what's for dinner ? Aha. Aha ahahahahahahahahahahaha

Tell him you were wondering the same thing, and to let you know when hes done making it......:floorlaugh:

So I assume that attorneys are able to receive specialized training to help them know how to cross examine a psychopath and his or her never ending circle??? Is this a law school course offered?

For most of us, like much about court, it is learning "trial by fire." When I have had cases where I suspected a narcissist, I did a lot of research which was extremely helpful. JM is doing great with her. Other attorneys may have had specialized training offered, but I think it comes with experience. JM has certainly had a lot of experience in this area, too.

"I WILL NOT BE IGNORED, DAN!"

thank god she didn't boil napoleon

What? What'd I say?! :dunno:

This was pointed out on HLN so I recorded it for those who don't have it. Watch at the end how she can hardly contain her delight in herself. She thinks her semantics games and poor pitiful me, you mean guy games are working and if I were on that jury, giving up my pay and time with family and friends - I would be ready to load the needle just seeing this.
(PS - not great quality video, just done fast with the digital cam!)

I hope she gets declared a hostile witness.

Semantics games is a perfect description.

I haven't seen the full day, just some of this afternoon. I feel like I was following what was going on and what he was trying to establish.

The only phone Jodi had access to on that day was a cell phone. Where she lived there was NO landline. Her texts to him are normal. If she had been driving her own car, there would have been no need for her to exchange cars. So, she had his. For an excuse to see him. She said he called her several times in a row, but not on cell phone. How is that possible she only had a cell.

She said she only has memory loss for traumatic things. On this day though she only remembers the traumatic event, nothing of events surrounding it. However, on the day she murdered TA she remember everything around the murder but not the murder itself. So which is it?

I think Juan is doing a fine job, it wouldn't hurt to tone it down a little buuut lets face it, JA is holding her own. If anythig she is acting like its a contest of wills and not the most important time in what could be a short life.

I am off to see if there is transcripts or something from this morning and read the threads. If anyone understood in a different way, I would love to hear your take on it.

ITA. This is not how I would have played it, but I'm not a prosecuting attorney! IMO he is doing a good job of showing how ridiculous all her stories are and will easily pull it all together at his summation. Plus when the DV expert testifies, he can "ask" her if Jodi's behavior when he questioned her was consistent with being a battered woman. Which would be NO.

Okay I'm gonna say it... aside from the obvious double standard with the genders and how different this case would be if the victim were female/the murderer were male...

If the circumstances of this case were exactly the same, but JA physical appearance had her looking like the female version of Mr. Nurmi-- NONE of the people who are expressing concern or questioning Juan Martinez's approach or aggressiveness would be doing so. Not the talking heads, not trial watchers, nobody. Many of our sleuthers here wouldn't even make that an issue -- those are the same good folks who are able to embrace men as victims and don't view JA as "more worthy of a victim" because of her appearance.

I'm just saying, I see and hear a lot of comments about how Juan is "treating" poor JA that feed right into the defense strategy that she's a poor, sweet, frail little woman. That he's walking a fine line or crossing the line of what's acceptable in his approach questioning her. To be honest, I'm a little disgusted in that mentality. This is part of the problem, just like JVM and NG covering this trial with the big splashy headline "BOMBSHELL BEAUTY KILLS IN FATAL ATTRACTION MURDER!".

Justice should be blind. Small "attractive" women who commit crimes like this and fictitiously accuse their murder victim of the most heinous things possible without foundation shouldn't be afforded courtesy or society's pity. IMO.

Sorry but this just ticks me off..
Thanks just wasn't enough!

You are ON POINT!!!! If Jodi was a man, nobody would have a problem with JM's aggressive style!!!

I believe Jodi also is intelligent...has verbal strengths that should not be underestimated.

Don't forget that she's had NOTHING else to do for the last four years except come up with lies and try to fit them into the details. I'm sure she has focused on perfecting those lies and prepare for any question that could possibly be asked. I'm sure JM had other cases to work on.

Why isn't the judge admonishing her to answer yes or no? Or saying to her "get to the point", "lets speed this up".
I may be clueless on this and the judge can't say anything. IDK.
Seems I've seen plenty of trials where the judge said these exact things.

I came back from the drs office (of all days wouldn't you know) just as the troops were back from lunch. I am "sooo" glad there is a diary to confront her otherwise it would round and round we go. No wonder Travis got mad geeeeeeeeeez.. I would probably become homicidal too deal with Jodi and her passive aggressive verbiage. *screeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeam*. I feel better.. Thanks all.. Glad you didn't hear it just read it.. lol

I'm going to puke.....why does anyone think Travis doesn't deserve to have a fierce advocate?? He's been accused of being a disgusting pedophile!! :furious: And JM is being too hard on his accuser?? Travis had his throat slit ear to ear. And JM should be gentler with the one who wielded the knife??

Maybe I'm wrong and all sympathy and compassion is with Jodi. I won't be that surprised, I guess.
