Jose Baez: Speaking to the media doesn't do you any favors

What really bothers me about JB, Cindy, George, Casey, etc. they think they are smarter than the rest of us. They think if they say it, we should believe it. We should not question it. Their facial impressions indicate that they are merely putting up with the media, LE and whomever questions them.

And poor JB. LE leaks info. They can release any info at any time they want to. Last I checked there wasn't a gag order.

I don't care who arrested her, or why, I am glad that Casey is back in jail. I think she should stay there until she tells LE what she knows.

I hope this team from Texas is successful. I hope they can bring Caylee home. None of the Anthony family are trying to bring her home.

I agree it is shameful! But I agree with Baez. LE should have let him take Casey in this afternoon before the mob gathered. That mob had no business being there. Would have achieved the same result without the circus.

I disagree. The public is outraged and wants to know where Caylee's body is. I feel that they have every right to gather in front of her house and chant all they want. If Casey can't take the heat, she should do whats right by her daughter and give up the info.

He implied that it wasn't credible and that there's no way it could show decomposition. I can't remember his exact words but I thought how silly that he would say that to the media when experts have been on tv disproving everything he has already said. Was it Michael Baden that said there is a test that is widely regarded scientifically that shows bands in the hair that is decomposing? The guys either isn't very bright or he's a fruit loop.

I'm furious. I just watched the 10pm airing of NG (live). This guy sits there and talks to the media constantly, trying to defend his client. He just sat there and said the focus should be on finding Caylee. When a reporter asked him why his client is not giving up information on where Caylee is, he responds that the public doesn't know what Casey as said to him and that she has credible reasons for doing the things she has. What? Didn't you just say the focus should be on finding Caylee???? If that were the case then why doesn't your client HELP FIND THIS CHILD???? :furious:

Everything I've read indicates he's taking on her defense pro bono. I hope he doesn't think that the media attention he is receiving is going to get him some money eventually. I personally think he is doing a disastourous job in defending his client. What type of defense attorney shows a fax supposedly sent to LE and whines on tv about how his client is arrested? This whole fiasco is shameful. Just shameful.

I couldn't agree more and have been posting about him for days. She needs a good lawyer pronto...I want to see her get justice, not get punished extra for having a bad lawyer. Plus, she is obviously not getting good advice or professional representation, which every accused deserves. IMOO

I get the feeling where he is going with all this is this...he's going to spin some whole new story during his opening address, LE will be on standby to disprove it, and his client will be facing the death penalty. This guy makes lawyers look dumb...IMOO

That's the sad part. He makes lawyers look very stupid. He's going to come up with some stupid theory, like devil worshipers where spotted near Zaney's apartment in a brown beat up van and maybe they took the baby? She'll be tried for the DP and end up getting convicted. Maybe then Cindy & George will wake up and realize they are living in denial and get some help.

what i also thot was incredible was when tim from equa-search said that casey was smiling and playing on her computer almost all the time he was there.
He said it was not the behaviour of anyone concerned about caylee.
Why would she be inside the house and not even remotely concerend with Caylee.
If she has had to hide things from the police to protect caylee and/or her family, you would think it would be a very serious or sombre time for her..
This woman is a psychopath plain and simple..sometimes I wish the media would just stop covering it and surrender to this fact.
Cover her trial when te time comes..I get really bored with this..all talk no action by anyone.
The same "breaking news" every day, etc. etc.
Why not leave them alone to their sorry lives until the cops have enough to try her for murder or manslaughter or whatever it turns out to be.

There is no way Caylee is alive and that the media seems intent on following these losers around who would never admit fault bewilders me.
It feeds the insanity.

It was the same with Drew Peterson..just a circus going nowhere anytime soon.

LE will not tell us much until that happens- the media are like vultures trying to win ratings..no one is really focusing on reality.

He seems to lie as much as Casey. Yes, he did lie about the immunity issue. He also said that he hasn't had a chance to look at the DNA tests yet. I'd bet he's lying through his teeth on that one too. Give me a break. The defense attorney doesn't know what evidence LE is gathering against his client? Come on. He acted like he knew less that I did. Hard to believe. Everything I have learned is public knowledge. Then he says that he knows inside info that Casey has told him. He acts like he has some sort of "special" interest in his client... It's very strange.

Well then what have Jose and Casey been doing while she is at his for six hours a day, everyday? Updating Myspace pages?
SHEESH, he makes me sick, as sick as the Anthony family make me. Does he not realize he is harming his client? Does he think the general public is so uninformed that we are buying into the "poor Casey" act??Honestly, her goose is cooked, no matter how you slice it, but c'mon Jose, act like you have a modicum of sense and dignity. Somebody please refresh me on some of the cannons of legal ethics and attorney client privilege? Because unless I am missing a major point, we can actually garner alot from what baez says and does not say.

Stop me if I am wrong, but aren't there some limits to attorney client privilege? Some points when a lawyer can break it. Those cases where the lawyer is aware of an ongoing crime, or direct threat to the life of someone?

So if Baez had creddible information concerning a kidnapping of a child, in which the child is still missing and presumed alive, he would have some obligation to tell at least some specifics of what he knows.

Whereas if the child is in fact dead there is no ongoing crime in progress, and Baez specifically cannot reveal any information to anyone.

Now granted, given his client, it is also quite as likley that she has honestly not told him anything but more regurgitated lies, and nothing that could be even vaguely construed as credible information.

IMO, his website suggests he is a bottom dweller. Advertises as specialising in criminal sex offences. And brags about the case he just lost. IMOO
