Defense says they plan to appeal the verdict
In court they asked for 30 days to file post-trial admissions.

That's what I think, too. IMO It's easy to underestimate how little access some women have to information from outside their tight communities. I cut Josh's wife slack because I'm guessing she's in the dark about a lot of things we might assume she knows and can think critically about.

Which reminds me, how would Anna have been informed that Josh had had a transgression picked up by Covenant Eyes? This would require some tech savvy, I would guess. Does the notification come by cell phone? How was she supposed to learn the tasks required by the app? Were they technical? Simple text? This whole sex and torture angle might just not have been in her wherewithal to know or wrap her head around. Anyway, I feel sorry for her more than anything else.

Now that he has been found guilty, I wonder if there is concern over the safety of his children prior to the charges and subsequent bond stipulation that he only have supervised contact with them? The molestation of his minor sisters and CP charges are the only publicly known instances of him being caught/accused. Likely there is more and I don't think it's a big leap to think that he may have harmed his own children. Does anyone know if that has likely already been investigated or if that will be re-looked at now that he's convicted? I've seen a few unofficial statements/sources, but don't recall and can't find anything citable.

Been reading here abit, hard to follow these cases. I am thrilled of the guilty verdict, wish it were more.

He is a sick individual and the ones who support him are not far from it.

It's excruciatingly hard to have a spouse in prison, and now she has to be a single mom to 7 kids. And there aren't any federal prisons anywhere close, right? So visitation will be difficult. She is such a victim in all of this.

So, from my understanding, Covenant Eyes gathers screenshots of the user's web histories and these screenshots are analyzed by AI to screen for any viewing *advertiser censored*/general unapproved websites (this includes Reddit), and the data is sent to the user's "accountability buddy" which, in most instances (like this one), is the wife.

They have not been until now, but I am unsure if this will change now that he has been convicted instead of just charged.

Also, I just wanted to bring up (I know you didn't mention this) that the police reports about him molesting 5 minors were from years before he got married and had children, so he was legally reported to have been a child molester before he had kids of his own.

I agree that this is going to be very hard on Anna and the kids but I hope they put him very far away. His little children don’t need to be visiting anyone in a prison, much less a child molester. MOO
