Since she is from Tennessee, I wonder if she was a hitch hiker or if she drove to Texas to visit relatives.This young woman has been identified. Investigators are trying to determine if her death is related to other 1970's serial killings in Galveston and Houston.

The identity of a young woman found in the Brazos River near Sealy more than 36 years ago is now known.
The Harris County Morgue has identified the woman, whose identity local officials have tried to determine for more than three decades, as Gloria Stringer, a 22-year-old woman originally from Tennessee.

I am glad they have ID one, and especially from the 70s. I believe if she was a victim of a SK we may be able to connect to another by the manor of death. They say floating in the water. Strangulation perhaps? Not drowning. I say she was dumped in the water and no suicide.
