Man discovered in Lenexa U-Haul with kids, wife’s dismembered body found guilty
Sad case indeed. I just saw this, and watched him testify in court, saying he didn't put the *advertiser censored* on his phone, he doesn't believe his wife did, but it wasn't there before the police got his phone... this is one case that hurts so much to see.

The sentencing for a man who was found in a Lenexa storage unit with his two children and his wife's dismembered body has been pushed back.

On Wednesday, Justin Rey appeared in court for his sentencing where he requested to represent himself and asked for a new judge.

"This is not OK for you all to be doing this,” Rey said. “It has been 17 months, and I still have not had a chance to speak or show the hard evidence of me being innocent -- let alone the body cam or the U-Haul cam to prove me innocent."

He told Judge Brenda Cameron that "what is going on here is not legal and that she is not honorable."

The last time Rey appeared in court on March 27, he fired his attorney and told the judge she wasn't honorable. His rant came after a jury found him guilty of child endangerment, child misconduct and sexual exploitation of a child.

From jail, Rey sent Kathy Quinn a four-page letter, the latest in a series he sent since his arrest. In it, Rey promised this will be one of the biggest stories of Quinn's life.

He gave specific details about a storage unit, the one police where found him in Lenexa. He asked Quinn to visit him in the detention center. He wanted to describe the items in that unit that would find and prove him 100% innocent.

In his letter he writes: "Please help me. I need the truth to be revealed to the nation, state and world."

While Johnson County District Court Judge Brenda Cameron read the sentence, Rey began to shout.

“You all believe you’re gonna get away with it?” he yelled to the courtroom.

Throughout his court proceedings, Rey has asserted his innocence. He has filed motions for mistrial, for a new judge and has changed lawyers and represented himself.

When Cameron told Rey he would be removed from court if he continued to interrupt her, Rey shouted, “Then shoot me.”

“They don’t give a (expletive) about me or my children. All because I dismembered a body,” Rey yelled as he was escorted from the courtroom by Johnson County Sheriff’s deputies.

He was placed in a witness room to watch the remainder of his sentencing by video.

During the trial, Rey said that his wife, Jessica Montiero, killed herself after giving birth in a hotel bathroom near the Truman Sports Complex along Interstate 70 in October 2017.
