BBM, Snipped by me

If that piece of work pulled her weight in life maybe dat azz would've had bond (piddling mere 5 grand, give me a break).
Or is it that cash was out there and they couldn't dirty their toes leaving the tracks.

To hear 'her side' I guess all suspects should just have everything handed to them on a golden platter, free.

I wonder what she's whining for now, that she has all the 'free' on earth. I hope it's being recorded. And I'm still extremely satisfied with the judgement from her CE case.

I hope EG is hungry, 'cuz she's got a lot to eat.

It's going to be one hell of a buffet.

Your post are always spot on and I love reading them....

I guess I just will never be able to grasp why this little boy had to loose his life. My 2 Grandson's age 4 and 6 ( turned 6 Feb 22 nd ) live with me as does their Mom. My 4 year old and I are very close, He will be 5 in November. My 6 year old yes very ornery especially when with cousin Oliver also just turned 6 ( in April My twin cousin Grandsons) . None of these boys this age has done a thing to make me upset enough to even hit them. I don't hit kids either. I guess having kids around me 24/7 about same age as Lucas I just can not grasp as WHY.Whats EG excuse.

Wichita babysitter who made child *advertiser censored* sentenced Friday, June 1, 2018

A Wichita woman who produced child *advertiser censored* while she was babysitting a 7-year-old girl in her home has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison.

U.S. Attorney Stephen McAllister said 47-year-old Stefanie Larsen was sentenced Thursday after previously pleading guilty to one count of production of child *advertiser censored*.

In her plea, Larsen admitted she allowed a man to produce a series of videos in which he masturbated in the presence of the sleeping child. When the child awoke and cried out, Larsen told her she had just had a bad dream.

The man paid Larsen to let him make the videos.

The man, 55-year-old Bill Raymond, was sentenced in December to more than 17 years in prison on child *advertiser censored* charges. Raymond is a former Manhattan city attorney.

Larsen will be waiting for Emily to claim her as her prison *advertiser censored*. Have fun in prison, Emily. Don’t turn your back.

Grams, I’d love to think this is true reform, but as I shared before until there is public over site thes are words I’ve heard before. Let’s see how long it is before another child dies. And it will happen. Sorry. No offense intended.
Perhaps, but these are steps in a positive direction. There is no magic wand to wave that will immediately fix things. It's going to take months and months of hard work. They have to start somewhere, and they ARE starting. And I can tell you definitively that the public IS aware and that these changes are coming BECAUSE of the public outcry. Our governor CARES. Our Secretary CARES. Our community CARES. These children's voices ARE being heard. Loudly. Lives have already been saved. Obviously one life lost is two too many, but Kansas is NOT the only state with the problem. In fact, several threads back some statistics were posted showing how Wichita and KS fall in comparison with other areas of the country. Yes, another child will die. Children die from abuse every day in this country. It sucks. It does.

ImaG, thank you for posting these positive updates. Please keep them coming. I'm going to choose to look upon them with hope.

I personally do not hold a grudge towards the citizens of each state when a crime occurs. I hold the agencies involved that make mistakes to allow a crime to proceed such as this case. Social services need to be held accountable as well and several other ppl too. From a case worker's view point, it can be very overwhelming and swamped with cases which leads me to say that changes need to happen from the top working downwards so no child, adult and the elderly will die. JMO

I love Kansas!
Yes! I try to point out as often as possible to VOTE for the important issues - many people calling for overhauls of DCF and other state agencies don't realize that some of the people they support at the polls are the same people slashing funding for these programs. I encourage everyone to look not only at what candidates/seated officials SAY, but what their history is when it comes to votes on the budgets for these services. You don't have to picket and march to make an impact - you can simply vote with our less fortunate children in mind.

And here I thought I was done crying about this case. ESO's video is another that really touched me.

I was confused, it’s going to be a memorial open to the public but if the public doesn’t back off then it will be private? I see the need for a spokesperson however it seemed as if she didn’t have much to say? I watched live and maybe it was confusing because of the fire trucks going past them interrupted the statement?

I did get that a memorial fund was set up at a bank and there is a mailing address for cards.

Could someone summarize the statement from the family, please? I heard that JH and JO want to lay Lucas to rest and would appreciate privacy. Could someone tell what else was said? Thanks!
That was most of what was said. The lady speaking, Misty, is now the spokesperson for the family, and JH and JO need privacy to grieve. They would like to do a public memorial service, but if the public doesn't allow them some space, they will make it private instead. She also said she is not a spokesperson for EG - only JH, JO and their extended families.

I agree on all counts. Personal responsibility’s an important.

In spite or because of things like this, we have laws and most importantly a specific system in place to be a very serious failsafe for children. I take it seriously.

Wichita has seen some horrific abuse cases and child deaths because if the system failure. One is to many. DCF is not going to solve this by a nicely worded press release. There needs to be a public iversite board to really have access to be darn sure policies and procedures are in fact changed. And some of the accountability we are placing on individuals involved in this very case.

It’s no mistake that DCF report/press statement came out today. I’ve done to many of them.

I just don’t want to log in and learn yet another child has died at the hands of a mother father or caregiver.
There is one:
Home - Child Welfare System Task Force

I heard in the beginning of the broadcast that there is a lot of negative things being said about the family and they are requesting that it stop. The rest is pretty much is what other's have stated above. The family wants time to grieve in peace. jmo

Lucas and his short life still have a lot to teach us and it is my belief that he will help save future children. We even have a member in this case here on WS who took proactive steps to save a child in her family because of Lucas' case. He's already saved at least one child. Lucas has a legacy beginning already.

It is very true that the system failed Lucas. He was failed by more than one person in his life, but the system was a huge part of this failure.
I posted toward the end of the previous thread so want to bring it forward here because I think it's relevant. I learned last night of someone who was so touched by Lucas' case that they quit their job and will be starting to work for a family services agency later this month. I expect they are not the only person that will be inspired to make a difference in the lives of these children.

BBM for emphasis. This is it! I made a lengthy post trying to look at JH's behavior -- why did he say/do these particular things? What about this angle?

I am trying to understand JH and have even tried to understand EG because I'm trying to understand how we can protect children like Lucas. No excuses.

I agree that there should be no double standards.

I also think you can be completely innocent and grilled (look at JO). People can jump to conclusions and be cruel.

I do not think JH is completely innocent in all of this, but I have to consider that EG was able to fool him more than all of us would like to believe we would be fooled.

Most of all, I think it's good for us to have disagreements--it's how new ideas come out into the open, and it's how we learn perspectives different from our own, and it enables us to apply new ways of thinking to discussion. Just being open to an opposing view can give us the tiniest jumping off point that we can agree deserves further exploration.

We all get passionate because we care, and sometimes it feels like others are disliking us rather than disliking our opinions. I tend to be sensitive so be assured I have felt that way, sometimes thinking a member "hates" me, lol -- I had to take a step back and remember no one here knows me from Adam except that I'm someone else who cares about Lucas. So how can they hate me?

We communicate in ways unique to us--some us converse ("blah blah blah") like me; others are the definition of succinct. My ideas aren't popular in some cases with some members who feel differently and I also like to play devil's advocate sometimes which I know irritates those who don't care for that type of discussion -- that' s ok because I still feel safe enough to post them here and it's likely to resonate with at least one other member.

Truthfully, I think the world needs this Lucas group of folks right here on WS to discuss many other pressing issues because we've proven we can handle it...jmo
VERY well said!

I don't know if people are bringing FB drama to this thread or not because I don't read stuff on FB, but I'm going to have to remove most of these posts unless someone can explain or link to the comments that this Misty Cox has made. I'm not familiar with her or her previous statements.

I could post so many of these current job openings and similar positions, but here is an example:

State of Kansas

It ain’t the money, folks.

Here are msm articles about Misty:

FBI trains Kansas agencies in missing, abducted child cases

"I feel for this precious little boy, and we want to bring him home," said Misty Cox, a search organizer with a group calling themselves “Lucas Warriors.”

Cox is searching again for missing 5-year-old Lucas Hernandez.
The Wichita boy disappeared more than a month ago and Cox has searched for 19 days in a row.

"I'm ex-military, I'm a hospice nurse, so we come prepared, we have first aid kits, we have water supplies,” said Cox.

Trained dogs join search for Lucas Hernandez

"I'm on my 59th day. Fifty-nine long, hard days. But it's worth it. We just want justice for Lucas. We want to bring him home," said Misty Cox, with Kansas Search Team.

Lucas went missing from his Wichita home more than two months ago.

Cox and other volunteers have searched almost every day since, including Dr. Glen Dey Park, in Wichita's north side.

"We've been doing thorough searches, some of areas we have already searched, but of course the dogs can pick up on things that a human cannot," said Cox, of the cadaver dogs.

Police have yet to say if they believe Lucas is still alive.

"Our focus has just widened. Is our hope that he does come home as that smiling, cute little boy? Absolutely. But time will tell," said Cox.
