Here is a map I made up back when this case first got started.

It shows the family farm and where her car was left and all of that.

It's a zoomable map, so you can really blow up the area they are currently searching as close as possible. I commented way back in the beginning that the land mass shown is pretty extensive especially when taking the neighboring properties into account. There's a fairly good size pond and lots of ATV trails and dirt roads zig-zagging about. I'm not entirely sure why this search wasn't done a year ago, maybe it has something to do with probable cause and associated legalities.

NCSO tells us cadaver dogs are here searching. So are dive teams. Says focus is different this time. Won't elaborate on that.

Man o man, they must really have a good lead or evidence.

Whenever I see "dive teams" on a case...I cringe.

Her poor family.

Slide show of search.

Looking through that slide show, I'd say LE must have gotten a tip from somebody to look in the ponds around the property.

It wouldn't surprise me a bit to find out that Houck (either of them) are deliberately "leaking" information to simply send these guys out on a wild goose chase knowing they aren't going to find anything, while laughing about it the whole time. I have no way of knowing what the two of them may have done with her, but I imagine she was made to vanish thoroughly and completely.........never to be found. Of course that's the entire problem with this case........no body......no charges. Houck may have planned this out for weeks, maybe even months, before he carried through with it.

All of these intense searches would have made a lot more sense a year ago before the rain, wind, and runoff had a chance to alter the ground surface. Any hole that was dug a year ago will have grass and vegetation growing on top of it by now. LE is checking those shallow ponds because they believe she may have been taken out into the middle of one of them and weighted down. I think that's a complete shot in the dark, and pretty unlikely. If those ponds ever dried up, their crime would be exposed pretty quickly. I don't think either one of them would've thought that was a good idea.

I think she's probably on that property, but buried...........deep. The kind of hole you dig with a backhoe.

The grass and vegetation are going wild with all the rain this year. Can't be helping. All I could think when I saw the searching was "hope they are covered in DEET" they're going to need it. :(

During a brief pause Tuesday evening, lead investigator Jon Snow of the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office confirmed they had removed several large items, possibly construction equipment, from the farm and had searched at least one well.

“We did find some items of interest on the farm,” Snow said. “I’m hopeful. I think we’re moving in the right direction. It’s been a long road and it may be even longer, but we’re getting close.”

Agents from multiple agencies and as many as 17 search dogs scoured the Houck family farm, where the lead investigator said he is confident a crime occurred. Snow said they would search until dusk and then return early Wednesday morning.

Wow 17 dogs.

Brooks was spotted on the farm Tuesday. Snow said he, along with a female companion and a child, were escorted on to the farm to feed his cattle.

The Ballards said they had noticed a difference in Houck during recent courtroom appearances in a custody battle over Rogers’ and Houck’s son.

“I know the last time he had a look on his face like I never saw before,” Sherry said. “He’s very cocky, but I think he’s worried deep down inside.”

Good! He should be worried. Same for his brother!

Assuming the child is his and Crystal's that was with him, why would he take a child amidst a huge police search for the child's mother's body? Not a place for any child IMO. Houck was just being snoopy trying to see how close he is to getting caught.

:copcar: Get 'em police!!! Praying you find the evidence you need for a conviction! I have no doubt you're on the right trail. Keep it up! You're doing fabulous!! So difficult going after one of your own, especially when you have such trust in each other. Trust that must be there to have each other's back in the event of a shootout, or hostage situation etc. To have that trust broken is a betrayal that will take time to heal, and you'll likely never be the same you were as before. Yet you have the entire squad here on your side! And you have many good brothers and sisters behind you!

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Nelson County Sheriff's Office is executing a search warrant at the farm belonging to the mother of Brooks Houck. Houck is a suspect in the disappearance of Bardstown mother, Crystal Rogers.

A number of different agencies are helping to search the property. We're told that an adjoining property is being searched as well.

During Tuesday morning's search, there were at least two dozen different police vehicles involved in the search including dogs.

"We are searching the farm of Rosemary Houck, who is the mother of the suspect, Brooks Houck, and we're searching the farm adjacent to it, right next door to it,” Detective Jonathan Snow said.

Rogers' family said Tuesday’s was the biggest search they've seen since she disappeared and they're hoping this time, they get answers.

Snow said this is the third time they have searched the farm.

Snow said this search is differently focused, and the area being searched is nearly 300 acres.

On Tuesday, crews spent a lot of time in the water.

"We're just focusing differently this time,” Snow said.
Rogers' parents, Tommy and Sherry Ballard, said they noticed the difference.
"A lot different. I feel like they're doing a really thorough search and I'm very happy with that,” Sherry Ballard said.

Sources close to the investigation told WLKY several pieces of farm equipment were seized.

Snow said the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office received the search warrant last week and expect the search to last the rest of Tuesday and at least most of the day Wednesday.

Investigators with the Nelson County Sheriff's Office, Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, the FBI and the Louisville Metro Police Dive Team were involved in the search.

"We want closure and we've been waiting for this for a year and like I said, I'm not giving up until I find my daughter,” Rogers’ father, Tommy Ballard, said.

He characterized Tuesday’s search as “focusing differently” this time. He said a search warrant was obtained last week and did not elaborate on the timing of Tuesday’s search.
The warrant covered Houck’s 245-acre farm and an adjacent property about 50 acres in size, Snow said. He warned that the search could last for a while.
“We’re going to search the entire farm,” he said, which could take until the following day, he said.
Snow said one person who lives on the farm was there when the warrant was executed, but he didn’t release that person’s identity.

Rogers was reportedly last seen on the family farm around July 3, 2015. Brooks Houck told investigators shortly after she was reported missing by her family that the couple had returned from the farm together, and when he awoke on July 4, Rogers had left home. Her abandoned car was found on the side of the Bluegrass Parkway July 6, 2015.
Sources close to the investigation have expressed doubts as to whether Rogers left the Houck farm alive.
Tuesday marked the latest in a string of search warrants that have been executed in connection to Rogers’ disappearance since the beginning of this month. On Aug. 11, Nick Houck, the brother of Brooks Houck, was served a search warrant for DNA evidence.
