Circumstances of Disappearance:

Nancy Ann Lockard, was last seen on June 24th at her late father's house in Nosben Fork of Turkey Creek in Pike County, Kentucky. No one has seen or heard from her since then.

Nancy Lockard is a single mother who has two young sons. Her family says she would not go off and leave them.

When Nancy Ann Lockard was first reported missing, there were concerns about Lockard’s mental stability due to her being despondent about her father’s death last year.

The last person known to have seen Nancy Ann Lockard was her boyfriend. The boyfriend told police investigators that he and Nancy were arguing and that Nancy was upset. The boyfriend also told police investigators that Nancy left after their argument and never came back.

Local volunteer fire departments, Kentucky State Police, Pike County Sheriff Department, and local volunteers used all terrain vehicles to search the hills surrounding Lockard’s home as well as the rest of the Turkey Creek area.

Specially trained dogs were brought in from Lexington, but the dogs could not find any trace of Nancy Ann Lockard.

Turkey Creek is approximately 20 miles northeast of Pikeville, Kentucky and it is next to the Kentucky-West Virginia border.

The Kentucky State Police are investigating this as a missing person case.

I'm guessing Pike county isn't that big --and there's another missing young mom from Pikeville -- Crystal Gayle Branham Hall - she has a thread here, too. :(

http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/h/hall_crystal.html

Crystal also disappeared from her home.

Seems like waaaay too much of a coincidence to me.

Uhh I grew up in Pike County. It is the largest county (area wise) east of the Mississippi River and is all mountains.

You're correct TexasMist that there are two women from Pike County, Kentucky that are currently missing, Crystal Gayle Branham Hall and Nancy Ann Lockard.

Their disappearances happened three and a half months apart from each other. While the circumstances surrounding their disappearances are different from one another, the only thing they had in common was that they both were mothers who had young children.

I noticed that there is an awful lot of chatter in the Belfry,Kentucky topix forum regarding the Nancy Ann Lockard case.

What was said on the Belfry topix regarding the Lockard case was not good and it must be taken with a barrel full of salt.

If you look at the Kentucky State Police and the news media websites, you'll see that there are two different pictures of Nancy Ann Lockard.

The pictures in the news media websites had a picture of Nancy Ann Lockard with her boyfriend.

The Kentucky State Police website had a picture of Nancy Ann Lockard without her boyfriend.

Family members of missing woman are begging for answers

Five months after a mother disappears without a trace, her family is begging for answers.

33 year old Nancy Ann Lockard was last seen in Pike County in June and no one has seen or heard from her since.

Nancy Lockard has two young sons and her family says she would not leave them.

Police say they have searched the entire neighborhood and hills behind her home and not found any trace of her.

Both investigators and her family are asking for help...More...

I've been following the Crystal Hall case since she first was reported missing. I hope the police are looking for a possible connection between these two women!

Bump.

Thinking of Nancy and her children on this Christmas Day.
