Scott Police Department is requesting help from the public in locating a person of interest in reference to a missing person's case involving Ella Goodie.

Brandon Jermaine Francisco is believed to be the last person to have come in contact wit Goodie.

Francisco currently has an active warrant for his arrest for failing to appear in court in Rapides Parish the date Goodie was last seen.

Arrests made in Cheneyville Christmas Eve shooting

RPSO has made two arrests in the investigation of the Christmas Eve shooting near Cheneyville that left the victim in critical condition at a local hospital.

Brandon Jermaine Francisco, 33, and Travelle Markez Louis, 30, both from Mansura, have been arrested for armed robbery, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, obstruction of justice, criminal conspiracy and attempted first-degree murder.

Francisco was arrested on Friday and Louis was arrested on Saturday.

Both suspects were taken into custody without incident and remain in jail at this time. Bond for Louis is set at $810,000, but no bond was set for Fransicso.

There is an active warrant for Francisco's arrest after he failed to appear in a Rapides Parish courtroom on March 9, the same day police say he was last seen with Goodie.

Francisco was missing in the courtroom at least once prior to his missed March 9 hearing, according to court records.

Francisco also failed to show up for a Feb. 7 jury trial before 9th Judicial District Court Judge Greg Beard for the same case. Tiffany Sanders, his attorney, said Francisco was exposed to COVID-19 but had tested negative and could not return to work until Feb. 8.

Prosecutor John Giordano questioned the excuse last month in a motion to revoke Francisco's bond, noting the defendant could not be located as of Feb. 14 and should be required to stay in Rapides Parish until his trial.

"The state believes that the defendant, even if the COVID-19 exposure is believed, could have appeared for trial on 8 February 2022, or any day thereafter, and that his absence was a deliberately executed scheme to avoid and/or delay trial," Giordano wrote in the Feb. 14 motion.

The judge denied Giordano's request in a Feb. 16 hearing, which Francisco attended with his attorney.

The March 9 hearing was to address Francisco's bond. The arrest warrant issued in his absence on that date orders that Francisco be jailed without bond once located.

Goodie's family said she was driving a customer for the ridesharing service, Lyft, to Houston at the time of her disappearance. A Lyft spokesperson told The Acadiana Advocate that the ride described did not occur on the app platform, but that the company has been in contact with law enforcement to offer assistance.

so if Goodie didn't use the Lyft platform to connect with POI Francisco, how do they know he was her last contact? Did she know him and tell her parents she was giving him a ride and the parents assume it was via Lyft? Was she asked to take him to his March 9th hearing at Rapides Parish Courthouse and then something went awry?

Scott, LA (Goodie's start ) to Rapides Parish, LA (court hearing for Francisco) 1 hr 21 min
Scott, LA to Houston 3 hrs 26 min
Scott, LA to Mansura, LA (where POI resides per article above) 1 hr 18 min.

These are pretty long distances to be Lyft rides.

The way it's worded, we don't know that NO ride was scheduled through the app, just that the one described (heading to Houston) wasn't scheduled.

So I think that is a little confusing.

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – The Acadiana community is still dedicated to finding a missing Scott woman after authorities arrested a person of interest in the case.

Authorities arrested Brandon Francisco in Missouri Friday afternoon. It’s believed Francisco was the last person who came into contact with 32-year-old Ella Goodie before her disappearance on March 9. Francisco had a warrant out of Rapides Parish for failing to appear in court the day that Goodie was last seen.

People close to Ella Goodie say though this person of interest has been found, she is still missing, and his arrest is only motivating the community even more to find her. “Can you share this with people please? We’re trying to find Ella. She’s been missing since March the 9th,” one woman volunteering in the search said to passing cars as she handed out flyers. “Hello, help find miss Ella,” another told drivers.

Volunteers spent hours Friday afternoon handing out flyers to the community, making sure people know that Ella is still missing.

“Sometimes it takes a village, and sometimes a community to protect each other. While I may not know her personally, she could be our daughter. She could be our sister. She could be our mother,” Bishop John W. Milton with the Imani Temple African-American Catholic Congregation said. They are just one of many organizations in Acadiana helping in the search.

“Since the information has surfaced about her disappearance and the suspicious circumstances of her disappearance, we believe that all of us, the whole community should be alert and aware and conscious because no one knows who might have information,” Bishop Milton added.

The Village 337, a Lafayette civil rights group, are also doing what they can to bring Ella home. “We are still hopeful that Ella is alive, and that is the number one goal and focus is to make sure that we find her alive and well. Initially our mode was to find him,” President and Director of The Village 337 Devon Norman said.

He says now that the person last seen with Ella has been found and arrested, the FBI, who became involved in the case last week, can learn more about Ella’s last whereabouts. They hope this will give them a better idea of where to search.

“The family is now ready to start search efforts of their own. That is the focus now. We will begin, as more information comes out from the arrest, hopefully we will be able to begin search efforts for Ella in specific locations that we know he traveled. Because we believe that may be an indicator of where we believe she may have traveled as well,” Norman added. The Village 337 will post updates on opportunities to volunteer for searches on their Facebook page.

To volunteer for the search party to help find Ella Goodie, you can also call or text Pamela Thibeaux Jolivette at (337) 703-1137.

Ella’s friends and family members are also calling on organizations, clubs, churches, youth groups, business owners, and trail riders to help. Supplies are also needed.

BRPROUD | Next step in Ella Goodie case: Finding physical evidence in her vehicle

As police continue to question Francisco, they say the next step in this case is to find any physical evidence that may be in Goodie’s vehicle, ultimately leading them to find her.

“They’re going to continue to look through that whole vehicle on a deeper level other than just looking and confirming that’s it. Ok, what else can we see? Are there fibers in the carpet? Is there something in the fabric? Maybe we can get a fingerprint off the upholstery or the window or anything like that. We’re going to continue to go through that whole vehicle inside and out,” Louisiana State Trooper Derek Senegal said.

Adding this 2008 info:

"A woman who says her friend was the alleged victim in one of his attempted murders is now speaking out.

“He broke into my girlfriend’s house, stabbed her 23 times, and left her for dead,” Celina Charles said.

Charles says she remembers the day well, the day her hometown newspaper in Marksville, Louisiana read, ’17-year-old Mother Stabbed by Boyfriend.'”

Reports say Brandon Francisco broke into Tytiana Jacobs’ apartment in the early morning hours of August 4, 2008. While Jacobs and 2 and a half year-old daughter slept, Francisco began stabbing her, police say.

Authorities also reported Jacobs and Francisco had recently broken up".
