I have to admit - I'm a bit confused. Wouldn't it be easy for LE & the coroner to say definitely whether it is Jaren or not? All it would take would be her family/friends describing the tattoos she has on her torso. Why is DNA necessary to say for sure? What am I missing?

Who is it that is heading to NO?
Could be a rule/law that says if face identification cannot be made, then DNA is necessary. Dunno. I guess more than one person could have the same tattoo.
Because there is always a chance of someone having the same tattoos. That is why they need to do the DNA
"The Hancock County Sheriff's Office sent investigators to New Orleans in this case. The coroner said a positive identification is pending DNA test results. Those are expected next week."

so when they say a positive ID is pending, does that mean that they think it's her, but they have to be SURE via DNA??
Has there been any word on the POI?
He saw her last - unless she was picked up by a cab - she never made it to her job. Preliminary results from autopsy indicate it is her, awaiting positive DNA match...just read on WLOX website.
