New info?

"The investigative team at WBRZ in Baton Rouge obtained laboratory reports and autopsy results, which apparently show that Brooks' blood alcohol level was lower than originally reported and that no DNA matching the suspects was found inside her."

But this does not mean they didn’t sexually assault her and they still left her on the side of a road with some alcohol in her in the middle of the night…

Carver will probably strike a deal and testify against the 17 year old and 17-year old's 28 year old Uncle. It sickens me that Madi left the bar alone without any of her sorority sisters or some sort of buddy system in place. I do wonder how the bar owner could let his drunk employee leave in the state she was in.

She was the employee? Or the patron?
In any case, she was 19. The bar didn't use any diligence in this case.

To me, it seems a complex situation - M is steady on her feet as she runs to the car after would-be assailants, but at the same time, she is slurring her words on the video. More drunk mentally than physically. Still, impaired and impulsive.

Look at it from the other angle - had M returned back home, Reggae would still stay open and serve minors, and no attention would be drawn to that street, a major artery without speeding signs.

No one exercised good judgment here, except for the two guardian angels, who are amazing. However, if you look at the setting, there are five people leaving the bar to get into a car, and at least three of them are underage to drink. So, how did Baton Rouge let the bar stay open with such practices? Did the minors obtain fake IDs to be served? Through whom? Or did the bar not check IDs?

To me, the fact that the bar in a student area was a magnet for everyone underage, and served them, as well as the street by which young people would go back home has no speeding signs, are obvious.

How can a 19-year-old work at a bar if the drinking age is 21? If you can't drink it you shouldn't be able to sell/serve it.

Doesn't make sense. Can't buy it but can sell. <modsnip>

At the same time, if you are in a restaurant and younger than 21, you can’t sit at the bar. Some restaurants don’t allow your seventeenth-year-old kids sit viewing the bar. Go guess.

Genetic material from one of the accused men, Kaivon Washington, was found in Brooks' genital area, but there was no sign of vaginal trauma. The autopsy did not say whether the DNA was found in semen, bodily fluids or epithelial cells.

An abrasion and bruising on Brooks' back side prompted a forensic pathologist conducting the autopsy to note it was "highly suspicious for a sexual assault," but the separate lab report said there was insufficient male DNA present and no indication of when an assault might have occurred.

East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney Hillar Moore III said Wednesday he stands by the case and is confident prosecutors can win a conviction. Moore added that he did not want to try this case in the media.

This is a story we have featured many times on our platform.Truly, every parent's nightmare. There is no denying that #MadisonBrooks had too many drinks (.319). There is no denying that in an intoxicated state, she entered a vehicle with 4 males who took advantage of her condition. They raped her. They sodomized her. And dumped in a street where she was hit by a vehicle resulting in her death. Keeping her story alive as we await trial. #Madison#LSU#Louisiana#
