• Distinguishing Characteristics Caucasian male. Red hair, blue eyes. Giddens's ear is pierced, and he has a fair, freckled complexion. He has a small homemade tattoo on his upper left arm and a tattoo of a series of dots on his left hand between his thumb and index finger.

Details of Disappearance​

Giddens was last known to be living in East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana on July 1, 2010. He said he was "catching and selling fish for money" and may have been using a canoe or other small boat for transportation. He may have planned to travel around the U.S. coast, possibly to Florida. Giddens has never been heard from again. Few details are available in his case. Winfield, Kansas police are investigating.

Bump for Giddens, I was going to post but glad to see someone else had.

The other case files I have found on this case don’t offer TOO much more detail, but slight bits. The case notes that it is being investigated from Kansas authorities, which I gather might mean that Kansas is where he came from?

Ideas that seem most likely about what happened to Giddens include drowning, or becoming transient and living long after he was last heard from, possibly even alive today. There is no mention of a specific boat or automobile, just a vague idea that perhaps he had one and if he did, did he actually navigate waterways for good distances in the southeast with said vessel?

I think what would help would be if we knew more about his personality and habits. Was this someone who was transient, who travelled frequently? Was he someone who was married to small boats and water and commercial fishing or was he instead trying new things? Is catching fish as an independent small time operation really a way to make any money in the southeast? Did Giddens ever have serious substance issues or was he just your average bit of weed and beer type of dude or neither? Was Giddens displaying curious or even erratic behavior in the last several months before his disappearance? There are many questions to which answers could help focus on where people should look for him.
