I was hoping that their evidence in this case was a lot more solid. After reading that article it does not seem as though it is.
I agree, rosie lee! I was hoping for a more solid case, much much more solid but from what I've read thus far *which I admit, isn't much*, it doesn't appear to be the case. I'll keep reading!

Just a question! *so I don't get another growling* Are we permitted to give our opinion on this Eric Hill since he has been mentioned in many articles? Or is that against TOS?

Seems to me that if Tellis' attorneys thought that E.H. Was someone he could cast reasonable doubt with, they would have done it. So, either E.H had a solid alibi, or LE didn't look into him enough and the defense did, OR Tellis couldn't roll on him without implicating himself because they were BOTH there, OR Tellis couldn't roll on him due to some kind of threats to people important to Tellis on the outside.

AFTER JESSICA CHAMBERS RETRIAL, QUINTON TELLIS HEADED TO LOUISIANA, WHERE HE IS A SUSPECT IN ANOTHER MURDER

OCTOBER 5, 2018

"....Tellis has not been charged with first-degree murder in the 2015 death of Ming-Chen Hsiao, who was killed in Louisiana, but he is a suspect in her death, Oxygen legal analyst Beth Karas said. A police official from the Monroe Police Department in Louisiana told Oxygen.com that there is an active warrant out for his arrest for the first-degree murder of Hsiao.

"The warrant hasn't been executed — meaning Tellis hasn't been arrested and charged," Karas told Oxygen.com.

The next step would be for the district attorney to take evidence to the grand jury to get an indictment.

Assistant District Attorney Geary Aycock told The News-Star of Monroe that a decision hasn't been made on trying Quinton Tellis there...."

WHO IS QUINTON TELLIS’ WIFE? WHAT WE KNOW ABOUT CHAKITA JACKSON, HIS ALIBI IN THE JESSICA CHAMBERS CASE

OCTOBER 10, 2018

"Chakita Jackson, the woman who Quinton Tellis was allegedly trying to meet up with the night of Jessica Chambers’ murder, would go on to become his wife. So who is she?...

Chakita Jackson, a Louisiana woman Tellis would marry less than a year after the tragic death of Chambers, is part of Tellis’ alibi in the Chambers case — and is also part of Tellis’ story in Louisiana.

Tellis has not been charged with Hsiao’s murder, but is serving 10 years in connection with the case, for three counts of unauthorized use of a debit card, according to the Clarion-Ledger. ..

The date of their marriage — August 8, 2015 — was the day Hsiao’s body was found, CNN reports....

Chakita Jackson’s cousin Eric Hill — the same Eric whose name was tattooed onto Tellis’ sister’s hand — is, according to this outstanding murder warrant, the person who pointed the finger at Tellis....

It is unclear if Jackson, who appears to have intermittent contact with the Tellis family as per public Facebook posts, is still married to Tellis, who has been moved to Louisiana to face charges related to the Hsiao murder according to the Louisiana Department Of Corrections Inmate Locater....

Now that Tellis is back in Louisiana, he is expected to be formally arrested for the murder of Meing-Chen Hsiao, Monroe Police Department confirmed with Oxygen.com.

Oxygen.com has not been able to make contact with Chakita Jackson."

You're reading my mind, aren't you, dixiegirl? :D Does anyone know where this Eric in this case was during Jessica's killing?

The below quote, taken from one of the many articles, really stands out to me. I'll admit right now, I do not believe a word that comes out of "Eric Hills" mouth, period!

Jackson told police Tellis didn't work but stayed home and watched her son. When he wasn't doing that, she said, he was with her cousin, Eric Hill.

Hill initially told police that another man named Curtis Lemons had allegedly told him he had stabbed Hsiao until she gave up the PIN to her debit card. Hill then picked Lemons out of a photo lineup but wouldn't initial it. He then looked at another lineup that included Tellis and said he didn't know anyone in it.

Court documents stated Hill told police Hsiao was stabbed and sliced in various ways meant to inflict pain until she gave up the PIN and that not all the wounds were meant to kill her — details only the killer would know.

Lemons was cleared. When police confronted Hill with the fact that they knew he was Jackson's cousin and associated with Tellis, Hill admitted he knew the details because Tellis had told him and that he had wanted to frame Lemons. Hill told police he and Tellis were telling "war stories" about their criminal histories, even trying to "one up" each other, when Tellis told him about going "to a lady's house" where he "robbed her of her credit cards, beat her up pretty bad, and stabbed her."

*Sorry can't find the link to the article that the above quote comes from* Ugh!

Anyone know how to find any updates on this case? Has QT been officially arrested and charged with Ming-Chen Hsiao's murder?
This was published 1/18/2019, yesterday...

DA: Tellis will return to Ouachita custody after prison term ends

Quinton V. Tellis, age 30, is accused of the first-degree murder of Ming-Chen Hsiao in July 2015. Hsiao was a recent graduate of the University of Louisiana Monroe at the time of her death. She was killed in a small apartment near the campus.

In May 2016, Tellis entered a guilty plea to one count of unauthorized use of an access card in 4th Judicial District Court for using Hsiao's debit card after her death. He received a 10-year sentence as a habitual offender.

Tellis has been housed at Angola since Oct. 5 following an Oct. 1 mistrial on capital murder charges connected to the burning death of Jessica Chambers, age 19, in Panola County, Mississippi in 2014.

......

Tellis only needs to serve 35 percent of his sentence and has an early release date, per the Department of Corrections, of Feb. 18, 2019.

.....

Tew said a warrant is on file for Tellis on charges of first degree murder, and the DA's office is reviewing the case. He also indicated he believes his office will go forward with a murder case.

Tew did not say if a grand jury will be convened for Tellis to determine final charges or if the DA's office intends to file a bill of information.

Ouachita Parish District Attorney Steve Tew says his office will use a detainer to return him to parish custody. Tew says a warrant is on file for Tellis on charges of first-degree murder in Hsiao’s death, and he believes his office will proceed with the case...."

Police file warrant for murder victim's PIN number as Tellis returns to Ouachita

Feb. 20, 2019

"Quinton V. Tellis, age 30, was booked into Ouachita Correctional Center Tuesday on one count of first degree murder....
According to the Department of Corrections, Panola County also has a detainer on Tellis.

Tellis was not required to serve his full 10-year sentence due to the accrual of good time — sentence credits that allow inmates to earn time off of their prison term. His full sentence release date was Aug. 19, 2025, but credits moved the date to Feb. 18, 2019.

District Attorney Steve Tew said a grand jury will be convened for Tellis to determine final charges. A date for the grand jury proceedings has not been set.

Police seek new evidence for court case

Updated warrants filed in 4th Judicial District Court indicate Monroe Police Department Detective Duane Cookson is continuing to search out new evidence to present for a murder case. ...

In a search warrant filed Jan. 24, Cookson asked Chase Bank for all records connected to Hsiao's checking and savings account, including records detailing precise information regarding purchases, ATM usage and telephone inquiries.

Specifically highlighted is a request for the four-digit PIN number connected to Hsiao's debit card. ...

A new detail provided in the warrant states that Tellis' phone records indicate he dialed a four-digit number between two calls made to Chase Bank's 1-800 number.

"Investigators are seeking complete banking records related (to) Hsiao's Chase Bank accounts and her Chase debit card PIN to further the homicide investigation in preparation for trial," the warrant states....

Tellis pleaded guilty to one count of unauthorized use of an access (debit) card May 12, 2016 immediately before a jury trial was scheduled to begin on the charge and one count possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute...."
