back in my 20s, i had just moved from baton rouge to new orleans. one evening i was driving from br to nola and got caught in a flood. it crept up so fast that no matter where i tried to drive, i could not outrun the rising water. next thing i knew i was in the middle of a strange neighborhood with water up to my waist. the only option i had was to exit my car and wade to the closest house in the pitch black of night. i ended up having to sleep there (not that i got one second of sleep) , and should have probably been stuck there for days, as my car was sitting flooded in the middle of the road, but i slipped out at 6 in the morning when everyone was sleeping bc i wanted to get home. it was a pretty dumb move, and i ended up wading through murky water with downed light poles for miles to get home. (luckily i had my dog with me, or i probably would have been a bit frightened. the family was very nice though, and i can't complain at all about them.)

i wonder if they have carefully checked and searched the homes around the area she got flooded in. i know baton rouge floods quickly the same way new orleans can. if she abandoned her car bc of flooding, she would not have had much choice but to get to higher ground and shelter, much like i did.

the fact that this happened back in december, though, does not sound positive. she would have been found by now if she had drowned. my gut says this is going to be bf/ex related. her kids deserve answers. i will never understand how people just vanish. it's scary and totally unnerving.

Omg! That sounds frightening! I’m in the mountains of WV. While we get flash floods sometimes, our regular floods aren’t as hard to avoid...in terms of driving. Drowning terrifies me, so I wouldn’t be able to reside somewhere with flooding happening rapidly. I really hope this isn’t what happened to Nahendra. I check in here often. I can’t even entertain that she left of her own volition. Nothing about her seems to lead to that conclusion for me. I just wish they’d find her. jmo

She now has a casefile on charley project. mentions family thinks foul play *might* be a factor but no word at all about any flooding being the likely source of her disappearance..

The 6900 block of Scenic Hwy in Baton Rouge is a 4 lane road with a center island. It appears very flat. I doubt Nahendra's car was in much water unless a large portion of Baton Rouge was flooded. Here is the street view, with the marker at 6900 Scenic Hwy:

ETA: My 6900 marker didn't make it into the link, but I'm standing at 6954 Scenic Hwy.‬‏‏

US 61 runs along the Mississippi River from MN to La. It's name is also the great river road.. Are there casinos on the river near where the car was found ? Dance Halls ? Supper Clubs ?
It was her birthday wonder if she had made plans ? JMO just throwing out ideas . I check in to see if there's anything new.
Prayers for Nehendra and family. Must be awfully have on Grandma and kids :(
