Alexandria Police arrested a 23-year-old Alexandria man Tuesday in connection with the murder of Sheterica Brewer.
Brad Edward Jeansonne was charged with second degree murder and booked into the Rapides Parish Detention Center.
A joint investigation by the Alexandria police and the FBI’s Violent Crime Task Force led detectives to Jeansonne, but Alexandria Police are not releasing a motive or the manner of death, officials say.
If he did this, that's an absolutely chilling facebook page he's kept up in the meantime. He's been posting cake recipes and political memes ever since that "tough day" post. It's as though nothing ever happened. I hope the police are looking very carefully at him in this case as well: http://www.kalb.com/story/25507351/murder-victims-father-looking-for-answers-about-her-death
News Channel 5's Brooke Buford spoke with Brewer's family. They say they were surprised to hear this man's name because they say they don't know him at all.
"When they said they found someone, the whole family stopped breathing," said Carmesha Leach, Sheterica Brewer's cousin. "When they said this guy's name, we were all dumbfounded. Like, okay, who is this guy?"

News Channel 5 is learning more about the suspect as the case unfolds. We've confirmed through the National Guard that Jeansonne is what they call a "traditional guardsman" and that he works part-time and is assigned to the military police unit at Camp Beauregard.
Pamela Carnahan's mother says she won't give up hope that whoever murdered her daughter is found by police. But, some days, she says she starts to worry.
"From what I've always heard, the longer it goes, the less likely of a chance they have at finding anybody," she said.
Lagrange and Carnahan's husband, Daniel, say they don't have a clue as to who would want to kill her or why. "No ma'am," said Daniel Carnahan. "No, because everybody loved her. She has been a sweet girl all her life," said Lagrange.
A trial date has been set for February 6, 2017 for Brad Jeansonne, the man accused of murdering 27-year-old Sheterica Brewer in May 2014.
Jeansonne is charged with second degree murder.
A trial set to start on Tuesday for the murder of Sheterica Brewer, 27, back in 2014, has been pushed to May 1. The request to continue the trial comes at the request of the defense.
Jury selection was supposed to begin next week for Brad Jeansonne, 26, for the murder of Sheterica Brewer, 27, back in 2014. Jeansonne is being represented by John Flynn. The case is being prosecuted by Brian Mosley.
However, the date has been pushed back yet again. We don't have any further information at this point on the trial.
Another murder trial, that of Brad Edward Jeansonne, has been continued to Dec. 13. Jeansonne was charged in June 2014 with second-degree murder in the death of Sheterica Brewer.
Brewer, 27, had been reported missing by her family after she failed to appear for work. Her body was found two days later, and her burned car was found on Duhon Lane.
Jeansonne, who was a Louisiana National Guardsman at the time of his arrest, also faces a felony charge of simple arson.
Last week, John Flynn, Jeansonne's attorney, filed a motion to suppress. Flynn claims that Jeansonne "possesses a diminished mental capacity" and, while police read him his Miranda rights and he signed the Advice of Rights form, over a 10 hour period of answering police questions and giving a confession, "he did not fully understand" his rights. Flynn also claims Jeansonne "parroted the information supplied to him."
A hearing for the matter is set before Judge Tom Yeager on March 20.
