Millard asks Rufolo if he has anything else to add.

He says, "simply to emphasize ones again the quality of the images is such that I cannot make certain assessments." He repeats he can't say for sure whether they are human or non human bones.

(Rogers repeated the same sentiment during her testimony in mid-November).

Millard wraps questioning, Dungey, Smich's lawyer has no questions.

The Crown says she may "take awhile" with the witness so we are taking the morning break.

Should be back in about 20 minutes.

I like how DM is making sure the expert says he's not 100% sure it's deer bone. That it could be human. That way he doesn't come across as paid off . Smart man.

Millard knows what every other reasonable person knows, that nobody can make more than an educated guess about whats in those photos. Would look ridiculous if he claimed to be 100% certain.

Right? And Goat....like what about the size? And DR Rogers was certain it was not animal...so this guy knows nothing.
He lost me at could either be long bones or ribs. Straight or bowed. They look the same lol.

IMO, Dr. Rogers part about the size of the bones is important. I hope the crown asks him to respond to the measurements she took from the grid LE made of the inside of the incinerator from the photo. It would be good to hear his opinion on them.

MOO

So we might get a zoom in here from the crown?
Only the human animal has radius and ulna bones. His expert agrees they're human???? Lol

You have posted twice now that he is a smart man... do you really think DM is smart? I mean, to me he seems like a complete and total moron.

DM is not the one giving testimony, it would be much easier to discredit this witness if he said "oh yeah %100 certain it's a deer" when a lot of the evidence points otherwise.

It's interesting the witness still holds his opinion after reading Dr rogers report.

Can't say for certain, sometimes it means dear person.

It could just mean a female deer but I can't say that with 100% certainty.

Since we're on a break I need a drink with jam and bread.

It sounds impressive, however taking exact measurements from a one dimensional image, especially a poor one, is virtually impossible. Its all guess work.

They should show Mr Ruffalo a picture of the rolled up tarp so he can explain how you'd need to fold a deer or goat to appear tubular like a human. Why waste a tarp on a deer anyway??

Seems this whole trial is about impressions and circumstantial. MOO

Rufalo is using the technology to circle in red what he says looks like spooling on a bone in the incinerator. #LauraBabcock.

I agree. DM is clearly educated but he's also a moron.

Sometimes it's easy to look at someone who has a good education and think that they are smart.

DM would be waaaay too tired to lift a moose even **with** help. Those moose are **HUGE**.

Not sure why they wasted their efforts with an incinerator at all...it seems the best hiding place would be in the magical forest with MS's buried gun.

Our first nomination for a WS field trip - the magical forest! Pity no one ever figured out exactly where it is located. Hmmmmm.
