I've refused to let cops come into my house before because I couldn't see their patrol car from the kitchen door.

"Pull your car up where I can see it."

"You serious?"

"Damn right."

"Ummm...okay."

Are they still searching at this very minute or have they left? It's 5 PM there now. I can't see any live feeds anymore, guess the news stations were told to stop or got tired of it.

They have been searching this house for a loooong time-I hope they turned up something to help them find Lisa!!

I missed the MSM link for this one!

I think Oriah was on here then...? :waitasec:

She had to leave, I believe, and said to keep an eye on the spaniel - I do remember that b/c I thought it was interesting.

Does anyone know if they are still searching or if there is a car outside of the home still blocking the parents access. I guess with it being dark they had to take the feeds down, nothing like the neighbors having spotlights from the news in their windows on top of everything else.

That reminded me of infrared sensors used during a recent home inspection we had done (we ended up not buying the house). It was very cool... Here's a sample photo that I found by a quick search - you can see *alot* with it:

I do not know-I lost my feed a long time ago-anyone else?

Exactly. If I don't know you, you're lucky if I even answer my door when you knock.

It won't surprise me if the next thing we hear from DB is that a garage-saler asked to go into her house to try something on.

I would hope her new attorney has advised her that the hole she's already dug is sufficiently deep.

I have never seen a search warrant that limits a search to a single room or area within a house. Evidence could be hidden anywhere inside a house/garage. I think it would be impossible for LE to know in advance where to look.

There's plenty of them. LE can only search the place(s) described in the warrant. That might be the entire house, but warrants are typically, in my experience, more specific than that. For example, maybe LE can search the entire house, but they can't search a room inside the house that's rented to a lodger. Or they can search the kitchen and bathrooms for specific items as outlined in the warrant, but not the rest of the house.

Those are just a couple of examples. Plenty of warrants have a much broader scope than the above examples, some don't.

Obviously our experiences are different.

I'm glad I could give you all a good laugh about a trusting nature, however it is a plausible scenario and I would rather think that a criminally minded person could commit this crime rather than your next door neighbor here in KC who has three beautiful children that she loves and is caring for. Either scenario can be incorrect, but I would rAther assume that the parents are telling the truth and they need our support to help find their daughter, Lisa. We should be considering all of the facts and possibilities, hope for the best, and prepare for the worst. But please, let's stop playing God's role in handing out judgement!

According to some people on Twitter, it is being said that they are still searching, not sure if this is true so I am not posting this as fact, more of a question. Post had said Le was outside leaning on their shovels looking like they were waiting what to do next. Can anyone confirm this. If someone on Twitter newsworthy posts this I will repost the tweet on here..

I didn't laugh. I was appalled that a stranger would even ask to go inside your home and my knee-jerk reaction would be to tell the person to F-off.

I just saw a update on HLN, and the reporter said they were still there.

Is there a live feed for HLN by any chance because my idiot husband (can we say that on here???) is watching damn wrestling which I hate with a passion and he knows it..

Road appears to still be closed

They have been keeping their lights on most of the night, most nights from what i hear from frustrated peeps up there.

Oh, no, I wasn't laughing at you or at people who have trusting natures! I just got tickled about the phrase 'unfamiliar butt cheeks.' There is nothing funny about this situation at all, but sometimes you have to laugh or you'll cry, you know??

And actually, I lean towards more towards believing that the parents did NOT do this than otherwise.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know I was not making fun of you or your post. :grouphug:

I understand what you're saying BUT this is afterall a crime discussion forum, thus the thread titled Did the mother do it? or something along those lines.

The mother got on national tv and admitted she was drunk the night her baby was so called 'kidnapped'.

There are people here who voice pro and con about the parental involvement.

I've let people in my home before also when having yard sales. Not since I've lived here in the DC area, but when I lived in a smaller town.

From the photos that I've seen posted here (thanks) and some video on HLN just now, it looks like it's been overcast but not raining or windy. When I was out today, I hoped that the searchers weren't dealing with the weather that we're having in southeastern lower Michigan. It has been cold, dark, raining, and windy most of the day.

I'm sure that makes a difference in a smaller town where everyone pretty much knows everyone else, or knows of them.

But, IMO, coming from a large city, there's no way I'd allow a yardsailer into my home. Ever. Unless they were near death and needed help. Even then I'd have the mace handy.
