If the accidental drowning is the defense, it's going to be a very hard sell to a jury. Let me guess... they are going to say Casey just couldn't tell her demonic mother about the unfortunate death, and covered it up. STILL, they have to explain Casey's "ugly coping", which no reasonable jury will accept, IMO. Especially not in Florida. No parent, Grand parent, could imagine anything other than true grief during those "31" days. I don't see the jury getting past the 31 days at all.
Are they going to try and explain the duct tape with Kronk ? The tape came from the Anthony home, as did the trash bags, blanket and canvas bags. Duct tape on a deceased child equals murder, hiding the body in the woods equals cover up. Accidents involve calls to 911, attempts to save the child, honesty (not lie after lie) to LE. Had it been an accident, anyone (after faced with jail) would have spilled the beans. Especially Casey.
This duct tape was placed on Caylee's face in multiple, long, strips. It was placed so securely as to keep the mandible in place for six months when the other joints had disarticulated long before. The person who applied that tape, had no intention of it ever coming off and it didn't (until the ME had to take it off).
No reasonable jury will buy the excuses the defense is trying to sell, IMO.
