Los Angeles' 4.4 earthquake Monday follows cluster of temblors in California

Southern Californians felt yet another earthquake Monday afternoon when a 4.4 magnitude temblor shook the area at 12:20 p.m.

I was laying in the bed with my dog and reading a book.
Whoa.
Hard shake and rumbles for quite long.
Some things around the house moved, pictures are crooked on the walls.
I thought it was The Big One.
I'm about 12 miles from epicenter.

I’m maybe 28 miles away, and did not feel it at all. Yet, interestingly, I did feel the one that was a week ago in Bakersfield, which is way farther away—so, go figure!

Dangerous L.A. fault system rivaling the San Andreas tied to recent earthquakes

Monday’s magnitude 4.4 quake that rattled Southern California is believed to have struck on a well-known and dangerous fault system known as the Puente Hills thrust fault system.
