This is incredibly sad, not only was she lovely, she seemed to be an intelligent, accomplished person with many friends & people who admired her. Depression is an inexplicable force, with devastating effects.

Just heard on The John Laws Show that Mick Jagger is arranging to fly straight to New York from Perth later today. So sad.

hmmm.
Definitly. :(

I read that one of his daughters had a family celebration and did not invite her, and she felt like a GF not like his partner. :( she had hopes for more.

The linked article said she had "committed an act of self harm" several weeks ago and that it was "hushed up".

That was the answer to my many WHY's

We all had/have problems in life and hardships;
some handle it better than others.
BUT….People who self harm have a mental imbalance such as Bipolar or other.
And have no idea how to handle any money either; (she was broke) they are generous and talented too as she was.

I know about MI I have a daughter like that, and I read and go to groups.
I am doing a 5 mile walk every MAY to raise funds to eradicate the stigma of mental imbalances/Illness she had the signature of MI (mental illness)

Depression is also sometimes the band aid word of something deeper.

SAD INDEED :(

So sad to hear this. I recently read that Ms. Scott and Mick Jagger were celebrating their 10 anniversary. She was lovely! RIP

Edited to add...I just read the post about the split.....wow

Some say they split and some say they did not.
But she was not invited to one of his family celebrations most recently, and that may say they did split.

From the New York Times:
L’Wren Scott Remembered by Cathy Horyn
http://www.nytimes.com/2014/03/20/f...membered-by-cathy-horyn.html?hpw&rref=fashion

I sent her text on March 12, checking in. She didn’t reply, but that wasn’t unusual. I learned since her death that she was planning to close her business, with an announcement on Wednesday. Still, as painful as the decision must have been for her, I wouldn’t draw any conclusions from it about her state of mind. Nor should any credence be given to reports of a breakup with Mick. It’s rubbish.

I feel really sad if this relatively young woman (49) killed herself over the wrinkled up, 70 year old, where-would-he-be-without-Viagra Mick Jagger!

Again I say we all head heart aches, brake ups, problems.
We all deal with thing differently. Cope differently.

Those who self harm, and can’t handle money are a sign of Mental illness.
Some mentally imbalanced people can cover up a lot, I think she did.

Yes it is sad, very sad, because Meds could have helped her.
:(

I said this early on:
The part that baffles me is she called her assistant before she hung herself.
POOR ASSISTANT....

I think that is very selfish, and telling that me, me, me was a huge part of her.
And me, me, me is a huge part of the mentally unstable.

ASLO - Mick has many, many millions a loan to pull out of debt (assuming she really did not want to ask for money). is a "normal" thing to do.
NO WAY will I buy that money had anything to do with her death.

She started dating Mick @ 36 and now @ 49 they breakup, no commitment, no child of her own. Some women flip out. Maybe she felt used, idk. Clearly one can be tall and skinny all day long but the face starts looking old. Her face was her ticket. There's always going to be a younger prettier face to take her place. Jmo

ciao

Very very sad. Depression does not discriminate - fame, fortune nor good looks are never a deterrent. It is a very serious illness that doesn't escape those who seem to have it all. Very sad & hits close to home to me. RIP Ms Scott. :(

Exactly. So that's why the media and others should not speculate. No one knows anything at this stage, they are clutching at any information they dig up. At 49 she could have endured something or things the media were never privy to. It is selfish in some eyes to msg the assistant but never forget the pain and anguish one must be feeling to want to end their life. She has lost her life. Jmo.

Yes, exactly. I've dealt with depression myself and the only thing I can definitely say is that if she was depressed, her world looked different to her from inside than it looks to us from outside. Your head and your heart can start to twist things around, so that what seems like evidence of a good life can turn into evidence of how twisted, ugly, undeserving, or whatever. Even being loved unconditionally can make you start to think you need to leave/end it/kill yourself before the lover finds out what a bad person you are.

I'm not saying any of that happened with this poor woman. Only that we can't tell from outside. I hope she can rest in peace now.

She hung herself from a doorknob over a balcony. I don't think that would have occurred to me. :twocents:

I don't think the fact that her boyfriend's ex didn't invite her to a baby shower says very much.
Many Mom's don't invite the "stepmom" figure to a baby shower for their daughter.

I also know plenty of woman are happy to not have kids. It certainly would have limited her more.
She could have still adopted, or even had biological kids if she wanted. She had options.

She was estranged from part of her immediate family, perhaps that affected her more as well.
I'm guessing that estrangement was religion related from my experience. That can mess with a person. :twocents:

No, no, she did not hang herself "over a balcony". She hung herself using a black silk scarf (as reported) by putting the scarf around her neck and then looping it over the lever-type "door knob" on a door that led to a patio.

It was reported that her body was found in a kneeling position. Meaning kneel, loop scarf over something to your rear, then lean forward into scarf until it cuts off circulation and you pass out and then die.

So very sad.

Thank you very, very, very much for this. I have sat on my fingers because I have found some things a tad hurtful on this thread.
