What is wrong with the cops telling him those truths? He WAS the throwaway guy. And he was going to trial alongside a multi-miilionaire who had the big money to spend on a huge defense team.

What's wrong with telling him the poly machine could tell if he was lying or not? That is basically true. Simplistic version, but generally correct. I think that defense attorney is reaching.

Mmmm. I will certainly miss Ralph Tavares, the wonderful man who called court to order each morning. That's what, as I kid, I would hear on TV in those early courtroom dramas -- "Hear ye, hear ye, this Court will now come to order..." and all the rest. Yes, we will miss him. But so glad when I hear anyone is going to retire -- 30 -- 40 years of working 5, 6, or 7 days a week -- he or she will eventually get used to not having to get up quite so early, or of having to be out the door by whatever time and knowing that 5 minutes could make a big difference in getting to work at the desired time. Ahh, it's wonderful, folks!! Highly recommended!

ITA -- but when you've got nothing, you do what you have to do and attack whatever you can. Indeed, Ortiz was the throwaway guy -- AH could do just about whatever he wanted to do, and he did -- he threw away a lot of folks. And AH did not care one whit about Ortiz.

We've seen it before -- JH doesn't even try to be subtle about it. He's been The Big Man and has been treated like The Big Man for a long time -- prolly since middle school when people started noticing him paying football that long ago. Beware a bully with a lot of money.

I think the judge saying she needs more info before she grants the name-change request, is interesting. I wonder what more she needs. (Obviously I don't know diddly about legally changing your name.)

And on another note, I wonder where Shayanna and her daughter are living...

Aaron Hernandez's Fiancee Allowed To Add His Surname To Hers

Judge Paula Cuculo of the North Providence Probate Court says Shayanna wanted the name change so she could have the same last name as the couple's 2-year-old daughter, Avielle.
