My best guess is that they had a chat after the friend left. He brought up divorce, she refused. He beat her, as he usually did, but killed her this time. He brought her body down to the basement while he did some research. Initially I think he planned on throwing her body in the woods somewhere remote, but after researching decided to dismember and throw her away at several locations. He got lucky with some of the dumpsters because the contents were incinerated. But the bags he took to his mother's place were sent to Peabody and they were found. I also think LE showed up earlier than he intended. When they showed up he still hadn't fully cleaned his car or completed the disposal and clean up of the home. Thankfully her employer called the police and had them do a wellness check, or more evidence could have been destroyed.

Is there any way his paternal rights can be terminated? Given what he did to his father and his wife, I'm worried if he ever got out of prison he'd do something to his children to get their money.

In this case, would the federal charges be first? And then add the murder as a capital offense, adding more time to the federal sentence? Or would he go to federal prison first, for the art fraud, then if convicted on this charge, go to state prison for this crime? I really think that he should serve all of his time in state prison, on the murder charge, if convicted. Too bad Massachusetts did away with the death penalty.

On January 2nd he went to Home Goods...that same day he was seen on security video at Home Depot in Rockland... he was seen at some street in Hingham.

[Jan 3] he was at an apt complex in Abington...another complex in Abington to dispose of another bag... in Brockton at a third complex at 5:10PM.

January 4th
Brian went to Home Goods and TJMaxx ... he went to Lowes...

The sentence to home confinement and ankle monitor doesn't seem to be working very well.

I can already smell a lawsuit coming against the company that does the electronic monitoring, hopefully benefiting the kids.

I am glad he was not a "family annihilator". He killed his wife, but not the children. That is interesting. I wonder if any studies have been done on comparing "Family Annihilators" vs. "Uxoricide".
I would be willing to wager a bet that the kids were spared because he knew that his wife left a will that specifically named only the children.
I imagine that he assumed as their caretaker, he would have access to money that way
This, of course is my speculation.

What I find so disturbing about these cases, is that the physical abuse, mental abuse is so evident. And yet, it is almost impossible to talk to anyone in an abusive relationship about this subject. Because of the "narcissistic cycle" of abuse...abuse, honeymoon, abuse, honeymoon....

Not victim blaming, just sad about the addictive nature of these relationships. So hard to break the cycle, and how dangerous it is to leave the abuser.

I agree bound makes more sense and I don’t know if she said mound or bound, but ”mound” as a verb can also mean: “To heap into a raised mass”, so he may have been trying to find out how he could best throw the heavy bags of her body (parts?) into a dumpster without breaking his back.
My brain heard "how to embalm a body." Sort of makes more sense together with his search about formaldehyde. Imo

Brian stated Ana left the house at 6 or 6:10am on January 1st. Her phone was pinged and it was found to be at her home on Jan 1, but turned off on January 2nd at 3:14Am. Brian stated Ana was wearing a black dress, hunter boots, watch, necklace and ring and carrying a Prada purse.
January 1st, using his son's ipad, some of the searches were listed in court:

that same day he was seen on security video at Home Depot in Rockland buying cleaning supplies, mops, brushes, tape, tarp, a tyvek suit with boots, buckets, goggles, baking soda and a hatchet. at 5:32PM he was seen at some street in Hingham.

January 3rd

By tracking his phone, at 4:27PM he was at an apt complex in Abington. Surveilance photos showed his car and a man fitting his description exit the car near a dumpster. He leans in with a garbage bag which appears to be heavy as he had to heft the bag in. At 4:48PM he hit another complex in Abington to dispose of another bag. And his phone showed him in Brockton at a third complex at 5:10PM. Video again showed him discarding bags at that dumpster in Brockton.

Brian went to Home Goods and TJMaxx and purchased towels, bath mats, men's clothing. At 4:15PM he went to Lowes and purchased squeegies and a trash can. That was the day officers went to Ana's to do a well check. They observed his car with seats down and a plastic liner in the back of the car. The next day, the liner was gone and car was freshly vacuumed. Blood was found in the car which matched, through DNA, Ana.

His phone showed he travelled to his mothers in Swampscott at 9:34AM and he went to the dumpster on that property.

On New Years Eve, the dinner guest reportedly left the Walshe's home between 1 - 1:30 a.m.

Three-and-one-half-hours later:
BW began searching Google for: How long before a body starts to smell (4:55 a.m.)
How to stop a body from decomposing (4:58 a.m.).

I think she brought up divorce first, and before then.

I can only imagine that if there was any chance of him ever getting out of prison, which I very much doubt, his children may very well be parents themselves.

I took one for the team and googled ‘mound’: a small hill or heap of dirt or stones (as one made to mark a grave) : the slightly raised ground on which a baseball pitcher stands. mound. 2 of 2 verb. : to form into a mound.

It was difficult to hear the DA, but I thought I heard ‘how to bound a body’.

eta: some reporters heard ‘impound’.
I thought she said "embalm" just with a Boston accent.

Why would she refuse a divorce? He was holding her back.

This type of evilness should not exist on this earth. May he rot in hell, and Ana’s children be raised in a loving family, along with their dog!
