I just popped into this thread to write down some thoughts.
RB is currently coming over on the stand a lot better than I expected! In most of the things she's saying she seems quite rational, not like a crazy liar. Her voice doesn't have the harsh edge to it that we could hear in the Bella's 2nd Birthday video. RB is describing herself very differently from how she came across in that video. RB certainly describes her parenting of Bella very differently from Sprinsky's description/examples of her parenting.

I'm watching RB's testimony from Friday (and somewhat disturbed that you guys are still talking about her ongoing testimony on Tuesday!)
I've read the last thread up to about half-way through the Sprinsky testimony, and it's really useful to refresh my memory by reading the posts here! I agree with most of the aside comments about Sprinsky and his testimony that were written here. His eyes! Poor guy was struggling with the drugs talk, and I was horrified with Shapiro's question about Sprinsky's text about wanting to commit suicide -- I hope Sprinsky has a therapist and NA person to talk to.
Demons.
When these people are talking about demons are they all on the same page as to what they mean by the word? People who are battling something like addiction can often say they are 'battling their demons' ... it doesn't mean literal supernatural beings! Despite Sprinsky clearly making it seem like 'demons' always meant supernatural entities to MM, I get the feeling that at least once that Sprinsky's text about demons meant something less literal.
And again in RB's early testimony I find it interesting that in places where Sprinsky was talking about demons and evil spirits, RB is talking about 'negative energy' and RB said the saging was to remove negative energy, not evil spririts which was how Sprinsky put it.
The two books that Shapiro noted MM having from the library in Shapiro's opening statements sounded more like either intellectual or pseudo-intellectual analyses of 'demons' and things in Catholicism?
I also think that MM's brother Joseph made a very fair point that Catholicism is full of that kind of thing (though I am not personally a Catholic and not extremely familiar with Catholicism (brought up Church of England and Catholicism was like a bad word in our house when I was growing up) but I think that's a pretty fair thing to say. And you have things like angels of God and Fallen Angels, and then there's all the back stories that aren't necessarily fully told in the Bible about these angels and Fallen Angels? Demonology is a very religious concept.

Something that stood out to me. We've been told that RB alleges MM told her (after he killed Bella) that "it was her time [to die]"
In RB's testimony, when discussing trying to get Bella to sleep on her own in her own room, the prosecutor asks why now to get Bella to sleep in her own room. RB replies that Bella was nearly three so "it was about her time....to have her own room" (there was a slight trailing off where I've put the elipsis).
How significant is that, that RB has used this exact term in her natural language to describe something relating to Bella?
Is this common Bostonian phrasing? Do both RB and MM use this phrase a lot? How significant is it that RB used this phrase?
