Prosecutor asks Sgt if Teixeira said anything about “duct tape ... mask ... satin eye covering”. Defense objects. Judge agrees with defense says “we all heard the tape and can draw our own conclusions.”

Sgt says he saw Bolanos at the murder scene. He says her pant’s zipper was down, pants pulled from waist and underwear torn.

Sgt is asked about condition of bathroom. He answers “there was a good amount of water in the bathtub.”

Sgt says 2 responding officers reported seeing 2 packages on the floor in front of the door. Sgt says he found receipts for those packages but didn’t find them. After the fact, reviewing crime photos he spotted the packages in the kitchen.

You may remember one of the witnesses who tested evidence brought up the name Annabel Zyis. Sgt just said Zyis installed closet doors in the doctors condo.

Sgt says he reviewed interior and exterior video. Two photos are shown. One was already presented in the trial of a person in a neon shirt near the condo buildings garage. The new one shows person in neon shirt with string back pack on.

Sgt is shown 2 photos from surveillance video. One is from central sq t-station, from broadway t-station. Both shoe person in what appears to be that windbreaker.

Now Sgt is shown video of outside condo buildings garage door. He explains a person in a neon shirt walks forward and back from area and eventually goes in. Then another video inside the garage shows person in neon shirt following car in.

Cross examination by defense now. Steve Sack asks Sgt if video that was shown confirms what Teixeira told him about how he got into the building. Sgt says “yes”.

***To clarify ... in the audio tape, Teixeira tells Sgt he went into condo building’s garage following a car, then took elevator to 7th floor where contractors were working called for it, then climbed stairs to penthouse level.

Sack asks if @bostonpolice ever found a handcuff key. Sgt says “no”. Sack asks if they searched the condo for the key. Sgt says they looked through every draw where a key could be

Sack says 2 knives were found on the scene. One had a black handle, the other was all silver. Sack asks if investigators compared those knives to knives sets in doctors penthouse. Sgt says “no”.

⁦Teixeira tells Sgt. Det. Michael Devane he put his hands up to surrender to police

BPD officers have previously testified that Teixeria’s hands were up and he appeared to be holding out a firearm

Teixeria says he was shot then fell on the floor. After that he said he kept saying kill me kill me

Teixeira says everything was hurting after he was shot

Teixeria keeps claiming he killed Dr. Field in self defense

Teixeira tells Sgt. Det. Devane he had a three month relationship with Lina. He calls her Linda when asked her name by the Sgt Det.

Teixeira says he know you can get into the buildings elevator if you press the button and that it won’t move until someone calls it from above

Teixeira says people were working in the building that day

You can hear Teixeira tell a nurse he has a bullet in him and it’s killing him

Teixeria says he couldn’t go through the front lobby of the building. He says he snuck into the garage, got into an elevator and took it to the 7th floor

Teixeira again confirms Lina’s name as Linda. He said she was impressed he could speak several languages. He says they never talked about her family

The recoding wraps up. Sgt. Det. Devane is now back on the stand answering questions from prosecutor John Pappas

Pappas is asking Sgt. Det. Devane about what he saw the night he responded to penthouse A

Pappas is asking the Sgt. Det. if a gun was ever recovered. He says the only gun found was a BB gun inside a black string bag in the hallway of the building

During his hospital bed interview Teixeira told police Dr. Field had a gun

Sgt. Det. Devane says he observed both victims in a pool of blood mixed with other substances including detergent

Sgt. Det. Devane says Lina Bolanos pants were unzipped and down. He says the top of her underwear appeared to be torn

Sgt. Det. Devane identifies a black string back recovered at the crime scene as one consistent with one seen on a person outside the building on surveillance video

On cross examination defense attorney Steven Sack asks Sgt. Det. Devane if what Teixeria told him about how he got into the building check out. He responds correct

We’re heading into a recess because the judge has another obligation on an unrelated cases. Sack will continue his cross when we return

The jury is expected to hear the remaining evidence today before lunch

The judge expects closing arguments to happen on Monday followed by his instructions before they begin deliberations

Sack asks Sgt if he got 7 days worth of surveillance video. Sgt answers yes. Sack says “but you didn’t view it all?” Sack says they did not.

Sack asks if any responding officers were wearing body cameras. Sgt says maybe one. Sack asks if he reviewed that video. Sgt answers no.

After a lunch break, Sack resumes cross examination. He establishes that despite Teixeira being in pain, talking about a bullet inside him and speaking softly ... he continued to answer the Sgt’s questions from his hospital bed.

Sack asks Sgt Devane if Teixeira said he was in fear of Dr. Richard Field. Sgt answers “yes”. Sack: “he admitted to killing Field but not Bolanos correct?” Sgt: “yes, correct.”

Sack says on May 5, 2017 there were two people working that knew Teixeira and they were never interviewed by police. He also asks Sgt if they checked Teixeira’s debit card to see if he bought a BB gun or handcuffs. Sgt answers “I did not”.

Sack is done. Prosecutor John Pappas gets up now. He asks Sgt where the officer wearing a body camera was stationed the night of the murders. Sgt says initially outside the building and later on in the lobby.

Sgt Devane leaves the stand. The prosecution rests. Both attorneys go into sidebar with the judge.

A brief break is called so Sack can consult with Teixeira. Jurors are dismissed and then Judge asks Teixeira if it is his decision not to testify. He responds “yes”.

Jurors brought back in. Defense rests its case.

Judge talking to jury. He says they will be released early for the weekend. On Monday, there will be closing arguments and then they will begin deliberations.

Teixeria will not testify during his murder trial

Right now the judge is informing Teixeira it’s his decision whether he wants to testify or not. He acknowledges that he understands. This is happening without the jury present

The jury is now being brought back into the courtroom

The defense rests

The jury has now heard all the evidence in the case. The judges is dismissing them for the day. Closing arguments and the judges instructions will happen on Monday morning

Closing arguments are set for this morning in Bampumim Teixeira’s murder trial. The jury could begin deliberations as early as this afternoon

Court is now in session. Teixeria is not present as his defense attorney and the judge go over the verdict slip

The verdict slip discussion is now over and court is now in recess

The courtroom is packed today. Throughout the ten day trial a lot of family and friends of the victims have been present

Teixeria is now in the courtroom. The attorneys are now in a sidebar with the judge. The jury is still not present

Court is in recess for about a half hour. Teixeira was just taken out of the courtroom

Teixeria and the jury are now in the courtroom

The defense will now begin closing arguments

Defense Attorney Steven Sack is now reintroducing himself to the jury

Sack is thanking the jury on behalf of his client Bampumim Teixeria

Sack - “you are about to embark on the most difficult thing to do, sit in judgment.”

Sack says they need to decide on proof beyond a reasonable doubt

Sack: “sometimes the truth is the hardest thing to believe.”

Sack is pointing out the difference in the time stamp on video evidence submitted by the prosecution

Sack also reminded the jury of an evidence processing error made with boots. He then says there may be other errors no one ever caught

Sack says Dr. Field had a gun or a replica gun

Sack says there were no cameras in the hallway of the 11th floor

Sack says Teixeira stabbed Dr. Richard Field in self defense
