We have heard "police have not found any evidence of foul play" many times on other cases. "Police don't suspect foul play" is interesting. Or it could be poor journalism which is rampant these days.

If you go the route of a stranger abduction, which does seem remote, you have to ask: why no: noise, blood, signs of a struggle,
purse missing. No answers to this.

I am curious what the neighbors thought when Sandra moved in. I have not seen any statement from them (even if they might be useless gossip!). In a small area like that, the sale , purchase, etc. of a home and a new neighbor moving in would have been a big event, IMO.

Can't be discussed here, but neighbors have been vocal on some town fb pages. You'll have to go back quite a ways in time and some comments/threads are now deleted but you may get a sense of what you're looking for.

One thought that has been discussed here is that Sandra left her home willingly but never made it back. In other words, the place where the encounter went wrong was external to her home. But we don't know.

Well there are potentially some signs of a struggle, they said that the mattress was moved, all the lights are on. I don't think Sandra was necessarily killed in the home, just taken from there. It reminds me a little bit of the Tara Grinstead case there were only a few very small signs of a struggle, but she was indeed taken from her home.

I have been following this since Day 1 and stopped posting for awhile out of frustration. I have honestly lost track of what has been brought up and what hasn’t. I know there was a lot of discussion about the mattress being moved, but the details are not clear. I honestly just had this thought of whoever they are, they were looking for money. A lot of people in this area still keep money ‘under the mattress’ so maybe it was a burglary gone wrong as a few have suggested or maybe she owed someone money. Another thought is a weapon could have been kept by the bed which could be another reason that Sandra or this person/people may have altered the position of the mattress. IMO

Good ideas about the mattress being moved. You could be right that Sandra kept something of value like cash there or something as simple she didn't want her daughter to see or the kids to find accidentally. She may have moved the mattress to get the item and then left to an errand or meet someone.

It is also likely that the mattress was out of position because a slat had fallen and has no relation to Sandra's disappearance. When a slat is a tad too short and doesn't fit tightly against the frame,it can jiggle loose every now and then. I had an antique bed once, and a slat fell occasionally when I was putting on a fitted sheet or bumped the frame with I was vacuuming, for instance. I put the less trustworthy slat at the foot of the bed, figuring if it ever fell when I rolled over in bed, I'd rather have the rude awakening be the foot dropping out from under me than the head.

In Sandra's case, she had been taking care of her grandchildren.Little kids climbing up onto the bed or bumping into it while playing in the bedroom could have caused a slat to fall. Sandra may have left putting it back in place til later. As soon as Sandra's son-in-law arrived, they all left to drop off her car at the mechanic.

When a slat or slats drop, the mattress is out of position. If Sandra put the shortest slat toward the foot of the bed, that end of the mattress would be out of position if that was the cause. If the head of the bed was out of position, it seems more likely that a person was retrieving something or searching for something. Laina's description didn't note anything else out of the ordinary. If there'd a struggle in the small house, things would have been be in disarray.

Police officers would have looked at whether the mattress position and slat when they first entered the house. They'd haven known quickly whether the slat was loose and apt to fall occasionally or if it would have taken greater force to knock it to the floor. I think neither Laina or the police saw evidence of violence in the bedroom and house or we would have heard something about it by now.

Lawere odd but I don't remember her saying the room was in disarray or there'd be a struggle there. In my opinion, the slat on the floor doesn't indicate violence. If police thought it did, I think we would have heard about it by now.

Yes, the position of the mattress/bed boards/fitted sheet is not clear if it represents struggle, theft, or even something more benign. I would say anything of value or anything needing to be kept from the sight of visitors to the house, might have been retrieved from there. Or not! Perhaps she merely was in the process of changing bed linen but got interrupted at some point during the day or night.

IIRC Laina said fitted sheet is missing, so I think if it was not in the laundry and not found anywhere in/around the house , something isn't right and that may be the reason the slats/mattress are disturbed, we just do not know.
Was the bed made?? Did she usually make her bed? So many questions, where are you Sandra?

HANSON — Police on Sunday were searching for a 54-year-old Hanson woman with ties to Quincy who had been reported missing.

Police said that Sandra Crispo of Spofford Avenue was last heard from on Wednesday, Aug. 7. She is described as a 5-foot-9 white woman with blue eyes and brown hair, according to police.

Hanson police said that foul play is not suspected and the case remains an active investigation.

Police are asking anyone who sees a person matching Crispo’s description, or who has any information as to her whereabouts, to contact the Hanson Police Department at 781-293-4625.
Did anyone besides me notice there are two different descriptions in this one post. The excerpt from NAMUS has "Left Eye color: Hazel"
"Right Eye Color: Hazel"
While excerpt from sited article says blue eyes.

I did not notice that, hmmm maybe people don't know what hazel looks like and hers are closer to the blue side, I really don't know what, if anything to make of this.

AFAIK the info from LE always said blue eyes. As well as info from the family's website devoted to finding her.

Maybe it's a regional thing. I grew up in southeastern Massachusetts. My mother used hazel to describe my eyes, which usually appear green but sometimes look blue. It was only as an adult I learned hazel meant more of a greenish brown than greenish blue.

I’m on the Massachusetts border with Hazel green eyes which means they are almost brown with some green speckled in. Sometimes I will wear a certain color and the green really pops. She could have hazel blue eyes.

I didn’t mean to imply there was a struggle or violence. Someone mentionEd that if her car wasn’t there, it would look as if she was not home. So, a burglary could be a possibility. Or even if it was someone familiar to her or Sandra herself. A mattress would be a place to look for money or other things that are intended to be hidden. Like you say, it could be something simple as a loose bed slat on an old bed or the grandchildren bumping into it. There is just so little info.

The photo I posted was from a Fall River paper, weeks after Sandra was reported missing. I knew that police had mentioned she was possibly in Fall River, and daughter discounted that possibility. But I was not aware there had been 3 separate sightings in Fall River. Does anyone have more information on those sightings? Were there 3 separate sightings, ie, reported by 3 different people at 3 different times/places? Where was the person reported to possibly be Sandra, when was the sighting, and what was she doing? Were they determined to be someone else? Do investigators think the sightings were Sandra but the tips were too old to be fruitful? Were the tips too generic to produce leads? So many questions and little more is public than when I followed the case early on.

The facts known publicly now are largely the same as there were the first month. Sandra was dropped off at her house in a tight neighborhood of small homes by her son-in-law and grandchildren in the late afternoon after they'd dropped off her car for repairs. She did not answer the house phone the next day. She did not have a cell phone. As far as we know, she not seen by others that day. The following morning, Sandra's daughter brought her children to Sandra's for babysitting. Sandra was not in the house. The back door was unlocked. The lights and AC were on. The bed was out of position. The dog's water bowl was empty. It appeared she had cut up fruit in the fridge, possibly for her grandchildren. That's pretty much it. Hope there is a break soon.

I can answer these questions about the tip/who/where/what the tipster claimed she was doing but I'm not sure it's allowed due to TOS. Maybe it's something you can still find on your own. A Boston news channel ran a story on their Facebook page about Sandra being missing and a person who lives in Fall River commented on the article. I don't think I can put their name here, it's only allowed to say that there was an interesting comment. That person was urged by other users to contact police with their tip.
