Is her name Irish in origin?

Saoirse. This name is pure Irish Gaelic, but that doesn't mean it's traditional. Saorise is the Gaelic word for freedom, which patriotic Irish parents adopted as a girl's name starting in the 20th Century. Most Americans who know the name met it in the form of actress Saoirse Ronan.

BARNSTABLE, Mass. — Authorities have determined that Saoirse Kennedy Hill, the 22-year-old granddaughter of assassinated presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, died of a drug overdose...

...Fluoxetine is an antidepressant, and diazepam is used to treat anxiety and alcohol withdrawal symptoms...

Me too. Having that responsibility gives me a sense of purpose and forces me out of bed even on my worst days.
What you said above is so, so true. Surviving partners who have lost their partner/spouse also have similar problems -- no one with whom to have that morning coffee, or to visit friends, or go to a movie, or to enjoy a vacation, or to see the grandchildren, or to share a birthday, etc.
You simply must have a reason to get out of bed in the morning. To remind yourself that you still have value to others, or your neighborhood, or your church/temple/mosque, or your community, or your boss, or your students, etc.
And so often you need help to remind yourself that you do have value -- that the potential is still there and has been all along.

Why in the world was she taking all of this?!?! Did anyone know that? Did she start suffering when she was young from her parents marriage break-up? Something about being depressed in her teens. She was not communicating. These drug are dangerous to say the least. So pretty and so young, she should be leading a happy life.

Which is the problem with psychopharmacology. Really, the doctors who prescribed the medication should be held accountable.

Along with any counselors Saoirse were seeing. I have issues with mental health counselors in the United States. Think about it, if they "treat" patients to get "healthy" they are out of a lucrative client. It is in their best interest to keep clients in depression and dependent.

Granted, not all mental health counselors are like this. But it is an area that is not often investigated.

Why? No doctor would be saying she should be taking those together. There are warning labels on medication labels and in the pamphlets about this.

Methadone is typically used to break opioid addictions. If she was on that, she's been battling addiction. That makes sense if you look at what else she was taking, alcohol, benzos (two different ones!)... I wonder how much of this was even prescribed to her or if she raided someone's medicine cabinet or bought it from someone.

Suicide is a strong possibility.

She had been battling depression, according to papers she’d written for school. So I suppose in theory, her death could have either been due to suicide, or accidental overdose-

But it looks like death certificate says COD was accidental overdose.

I agree with you that doctors would not seem to be at fault here. From what I’ve seen, the antidepressants would have been routine, and the other drugs could have either been taken from someone else with that Rx, or could have been prescribed in occasional doses that were to be taken in small quantities. IMO.

Benzodiazepines- which were clearly at play here- are now involved in 30% of all overdoes deaths. So the combo of drugs listed that they found in her system is not surprising to me. (For those of you following the EV case, you’ll know how strongly I feel about benzo risks!)

Yes, Benzos Are Bad for You

“Benzos harm in three ways – most dramatic dangers are deadly overdoses. Between 1996 and 2013, the death rate from benzo overdoses exploded by more than 500 percent, from 0.58 per 100,000 people to 3 per 100,000. Benzos are now involved in more than 30 per cent of all overdose deaths, usually in combination with opioids or alcohol.”

Possible she was dr shopping.

I knew someone a few years ago that went through 5-6 Dr’s in a year to get opioids.
