The all caps in those advisories literally make my hair stand on end!

As of Thursday afternoon, long-range models have been very consistent with predicting a northern turn for the storm, although they differ slightly in the timing. Most suggest that Lee could begin its turn in the middle of next week, with some calling for Tuesday and others turning the Category 4 monster shortly thereafter.

Thank God, this is not going anywhere near land in the near future! If it doesn't go to NE North America, it will cause destruction in Greenland, Iceland and the UK.

At least in 5 days it will be back down to a Cat 4. Crazy!

Praying Hurricane Lee remains a fish spinner. I hope he spins himself into oblivion.

Last night, I sent my cousin in Maine a heads up…. You know, it’s kind to share…. Ha!

I’m so over this hurricane season and we’re barely into Sept. Sigh.

I live in FL, but am up in New England summers....
I've been talking to my friends back in FL, and there seem to be no worries... yet.
But jeez..... Already at level 5. I am watching very carefully... for FL and New England!!!!

ps. @PayrollNerd .... I know you are always on top of the Florida cases and I appreciate.
Dr Markel, and Jared Bridegan cases have me so full of "hope" for the victims.

The "fish spinner" just cracks me up. I am central east coast FL so the term fits.

It’s been extremely hot here in New Jersey, hardly cooled going into September and I image the ocean waters are warmer than usual, probably all the way up to Canada.

Also:

The system has gained power passing over "record-warm waters of near [86 degrees Fahrenheit] east of the Lesser Antilles," the NHC said, adding that such warm waters are more likely to be found in the Gulf of Mexico, not the Atlantic Ocean.

We got nailed by FIONA here last year and now it looks like the most recent trajectory has LEE headed our way. I'm on the coast at the NB and Nova Scotia border ... it's 31 degrees and feels like 41 today. The water is beautiful and warm, warm, warm - much warmer than usual for my part of the Atlantic. :(

I’m on the bay in the Annapolis Royal area.

The bad sign for me is that all my hummingbirds & bluejays disappeared in the last two days. No crows making noise, just silence.

That is what happens here right before a hurricane moves thru. It gets too quiet. My neighbor feeds the birds but doesn't have a bird bath. I have 2 bird baths. The blue jays apparently have decided they don't need to dive bomb me now, since I'm their bath house. When I first put in my garden, they were pretty aggressive. After a storm moves thru, I know all is well when I hear chirping in the morning.

I remember the pictures of your community, the great trees that fell, and destruction. I hope Lee just skips out to anything cooler ocean water to defuse.
