Oh, wow. He's much braver than I would ever be.

Picture of the day. :heartbeat::heartbeat:

Despite being tranquilized, I'm surprised the bear didn't turn around try to bite him.

I am curious just how a man keeps a 500 lb animal afloat? I would think a tranquilized bear would be dead weight and not have any natural buoyancy. Not that it matters; the only thing that matters is that man and animal are now safe. :)

What a lovely story. From the images, it appears the rescuer was always standing - he wasn't swimming. And bears do have a lot of natural bouyancy - so basically all he had to do was support a little more weight than he was, and bring him back to shore.

When my kids were 5 years old, they could carry me around in a pool. Water is a great "lifter".

But still, it was incredibly courageous of the rescuer - the bear could certainly have turned on him. Interesting - animals so often know when they're being helped.

*smile* Love the pictures.

This story absolutely made me smile today, thanks!!
