Now asking if any have seen or read anything about the trial. Four so far that know about the case. Second row there are two that raised their hands. Third row we have four. For a total of ten that have previous knowledge on the case.

Judge now asking both sides to approach.

If my counting is correct, more than half of the roughly 20 potential jurors left in the courtroom have heard *something* about the #SieversTrial. Again, this doesn’t mean they can’t eventually sit on the jury, it depends what they know and if they’ve formed an opinion. @winknews

One woman raised her hand when asked if they knew Mark Sievers or any of the attorneys involved. She told the judge she’s known his daughters for several years @winknews

The judge dismissed about half the potential jurors after asking about financial hardships, medical conditions etc. that would prevent them from serving on the jury @winknews

Yes, sounds issues earlier but now fixed.
I had to put in my ear buds to hear clearly since sound source was very low with my device sound fully turned up. I jumped when sound suddenly cleared, LOL.

3 more just released. 7 to come back tomorrow. 2 to stay and discuss issues. The rest to stay for more questions.
First staying to discuss issues, says she has social anxiety, is getting a little shaky. State asking her about her job, and social interactions. Says she can listen, but has trouble with doing the group talks to deliberate. Defense asking if she would be able to stand up for her beliefs in a jury room. She says she would avoid conflict. Says she would just go along with everyone else’s opinion. She is a strike for cause.

Second juror with issues speaking on his knowledge about the case. Saying he’s seen media coverage and he would be able to decide just based on the case. Says the media usually isn’t accurate anyway. He is not a strike.

Next juror says he believes he knows too much about the case. He has seen a lot from wink news. He thinks he would lean against the defense because of his previous exposure to the case. He’s a strike for cause.

Next juror is a male that says he watched the case on television. Says he doesn’t remember hearing facts just that it was a gruesome case. Remembers being surprised something like this happened in this area. Not sure if he can set aside his knowledge. Strike for cause.

A couple more jurors dismissed. One for financial hardships and another for claiming he’s too familiar with the case from watching the news. Another added to the list to come back tomorrow @winknews

Next juror says his knowledge comes from tv and reading and he has followed the case from the beginning. He said he has already made his opinion. He is stricken for cause.
