I appreciate what you're saying, but we've had these supervised settings for decades and evil still lives among us. Not every violent and heinous crime is committed by someone who is mentally ill. Many with that diagnosis live peaceful lives. Drug abuse and an evil heart are much worse than mental illness....IMO.

A woman who lost two children in a violent August stabbing inside a Maryland house has died.


According to a family member, Ms. Bathsheba Sumter transitioned sometime over the weekend from what they referred as a "broken heart."

I did find this lone article from Feb. 2018. There was supposed to be a competency hearing in August of 2018.

According to the court site, trial is scheduled for 8/17/2020 and there will be no further continuances.

I'm not sure exactly how to read this but it looks as though something is scheduled beginning 1/11/2022 under the court scheduling and there is no disposition of the charges, so I'm guessing no trial has occurred yet.
