Police Investigate Maine Man's Mysterious Disappearance

Police say it's like someone planned the perfect disappearance. Daniel Gagnon, 26, of Brunswick, Maine was reported missing nearly one week ago, leaving behind no clues.

"We know very little about his disappearance, and that's the thing that's frustrating all of us," said Brunswick Police Commander Thomas Garrepy. "It's extremely unusual to have very few clues."

For the first time, his family is speaking out about the mysterious circumstances.

Police say his death does not appear to be suspicious, but the investigation is ongoing.

I'm kind of confused as to why they came to this conclusion so fast, especially stating right after that the investigation is ongoing.

Perhaps they suspect a heart attack or another medical issue? He was found in the woods by a river- did he frequently walk this area alone? I know there are lots of areas to walk in and around the Brunswick area. Also, they said his keys, wallet, and car were left at home, but they didn't mention anything about his phone?

Whatever happened to him, may Daniel rest in peace. Thoughts, prayers and strength to the family.

I'm surprised this isn't getting more attention.

I live a couple of hours away from several states- Maine, Vermont, Mass. I live in NH. I don't know if you saw my rant in the Austin Colson thread, but I went on a mini rant about how poor the coverage is in our states. Very frustrating, to say the least. I am just grateful Daniel is found, that his family and friends don't have months or years of wondering what happened to him, if he was still alive or not, if he was harmed, etc. That is brutal and torture on family.

there are questions about whether this man is mentally "fit" for lack of a better word (alleged family confirms he is) - is that what you're referring to re interesting comments?
I saw those comments as well. The sister-in-law didn't answer the question and was a bit annoyed by the question.
