“The concerning thing is they haven’t really checked in with family. At this time, there’s nothing that gives us any indication that there’s any foul play,” Lt. Matthew Gagne said.

Gagne said they were in the Rumford area last Wednesday. Detectives were able to verify a sighting of them on Friday using surveillance footage, but Gagne would not say where they were seen, citing the ongoing investigation.

The areas where they’ve been sighted are remote and it wouldn’t be unusual for there not to be cellphone service,” Gagne said.

Sanford police looking for family last seen nearly a week ago

Jill Sidebotham, Nicholas Hansen and their daughter Lydia were expected to return to Sanford last week and have not been in contact with relatives.

I'm afraid that since there is no evidence of a crime being committed, LE doesn't have their usual tools available to it - namely the ability to track cell phone data and pull ATM and credit card records. I wonder if Jill's family or friends knew of a particular campground where they were headed?

Has anyone looked for them behind the Walmart in Mexico, Maine? Oftentimes there are wooded areas behind or adjacent to a Walmart where transients are known to "camp." If they have a vehicle, and I believe that they do, maybe it is parked in the Walmart parking lot. With the price of gas, I don't imagine they would be traveling much. (IMO)

Thurs., June 30, 2022 - They were expected back in Sanford, ME from camping trip, when Jill Sidebotham was supposed to meet her 10-year-old son, who was planning to stay with her for the weekend, according to her father, Ron Sidebotham.


Sat., July 2, 2022 - Jill Sidebotham's family reported the three as missing to Sanford Police; also, there was a sighting of the three at a Walmart in Mexico, ME

Very odd that they were sighted AFTER the phones were turned off/deactivated. That makes it look voluntary to me. I wonder how iron clad that Walmart sighting is. Video time stamp could be off....
