I did some research using the Way Back Machine and if I'm reading everything correctly I l discovered that Princess Cruises was operating in New England during the months of May June and July. Here is a link to the schedule i found. In addition I was able to find copies of the itineraries by going back another 3 months. This one stands out to me because it mentions visiting Kennebunkport, Maine. If im reading the itinerary correctly it appears that the majority of that trip is done on land so I don't know how JD would've ended up in the ocean. I would love to hear everybody's thoughts.
 
We are nearing the 22nd anniversary of JDs discovery. Im really hoping this will be the last anniversary without his name. Honestly I don't have my hopes too high, he's been a DDP case for a while now and genetic genealogy on this case is tough due to high endogamy in the gene pool. I'm still actively searching for potential matches but am continuously coming up empty. I wish we had more to go on. Pictures of his clothing would be really helpful, but unfortunately the ME only has any photos of the clothing on his body. Someone must be missing him. I'm wondering if he's neither American nor Canadian. I believe someone here mentioned him falling off a Cargo ship of some sort. I wonder if Wearguard clothing was available overseas. He also had that unique Nesbit partial, would that have been available overseas? Another theory I've heard here and agreed with is that he may have fallen off a ferry or cruise ship. Unfortunately, I doubt there are any travel logs left from 22 years ago.
He would likely be in his 80s if he was alive. His parents and many of his siblings are likely deceased but he may have children and grandchildren Maybe even great grandchildren. I want him home with his family so so bad.

Has DDP shared any surnames for this case?
 
I'm thinking if he were lost at sea, it would have to be off a larger vessel with lots of people on it, because on a smaller ship/boat, he surely would have been missed.

They passed along my suggestion to their media director and the team leaders for the case. I'm hoping they will put something out today since the anniversary falls on Sunday.

Yes. It's a rather large ship. Not as big as a cruise ship, but it's a ferry, so it transports vehicles as well as passengers.
I'm not an expert on ocean currents, but it looks like, from current maps, if he fell over at just the right place on the route, he could have caught one north.

I'm going to try to see if I can get his DNA run thru Canadas NDDB. When I spoke w NCMPUR last year I asked if they could look through their records for potential matches and they told me they couldn't. I'm not too confident they'll assist me w this request either but it is what it is.

The investigator on Marcia King's case, before she was ID'd, told me it was difficult working across the border with Canada because their procedures and protocols were different. I recall he said it took well over a year to rule Patricia Salamadyk out as a potential match. At that time, they didn't have a national DNA database, it was in its infancy, or was being proposed, and Canada would only take samples from families of missing persons if they had a set if remains to compare it to. They didn't store DNA profiles for future or mass comparisons. Hopefully, that's changed since then.

The previous posts about it were deleted but there is big chance he has been identified. So, we are now waiting for the announcement.
