A former prosecutor said the state can build a argument for profiling against George Zimmerman.

Former prosecutor Jeff Deen said the state can build a three-pronged argument based on profiling using Zimmerman's own statements and the statements Trayvon Martin made to a girlfriend he was talking to on the phone.

Based on profiling, Deen said, Zimmerman got out of his car and in essence took the fight to Martin.

Zimmerman rode with cops, ripped department

Sanford Police Chief Bill Lee denied at the time knowing Zimmerman, saying he had no relationship with the police department. City records show Lee exchanged emails with Zimmerman last year, when the neighborhood watch volunteer wrote to the chief to praise the department’s volunteer program coordinator.

A video released last week by the State Attorney prosecuting the case shows Zimmerman freely walked about the police station the night of the shooting unescorted.

ETA: The text of the article changed since I quoted it above. It now reads:

Prosecutors in George Zimmerman murder trial want some evidence sealed

Prosecutors wants witness names, cell phone records, confessions and other materials kept from the media.
------

Prosecutors handling the second-degree murder case against George Zimmerman filed a motion late Wednesday asking the judge to seal parts of the evidence.

Among the items Duval County Assistant State Attorney Bernardo de la Rionda wants kept from the public: the results of a test police conducted on Zimmerman the day after he killed Trayvon Martin. The results have already been provided to the court under seal, de la Rionda said.
------

De la Rionda also wants to seal two CDs of audio interviews with a witness identified as “W9.” She is the same person who called police anonymously just two days after the killing to say Zimmerman and his family were racists.

In an interview with the prosecutors who handled the case prior to the Duval County State Attorney’s office stepping in, W9 made more allegations, the record shows.

Trayvon's killer said to make self-incriminating statements

"Defendant (Zimmerman) has provided law enforcement with numerous statements, some of which are contradictory, and are inconsistent with the physical evidence and statements of witnesses," the prosecutors said in their court filing.

They said the statements by Zimmerman were admissible in court and "in conjunction with other statements and evidence help to establish defendant's guilt in this case."

So what's left? Documents filed with the court by both the state and defense seeking to keep certain records under sealoffer a peek behind the curtain and preview potentially important evidence.

But based on what what's out there now, legal experts say it's unlikely there's a bombshell waiting.

"I think that we have seen the best the state has to offer to this point," said Bill Sheaffer, an Orlando defense attorney and WFTV-Channel 9 legal analyst.
