I know the DT can't make up a story for the defendent, but what would prevent them from suggesting it and let the compulsive liar take it from there?

Well the Menendez brothers got their spiffy little ideas from movies and it appears that ICA is good at that, too.

The movies rented at Blockbuster that night had someone taped up in the trunk in one and a child kidnapped in another, and it still haunts me that her "favorite movie" she advertised on some social network site much earlier was Natural Born Killers in which Juliette Lewis plays Mallory Knox, a girl who gets her boyfriend to kill her abusive father and enabling mother before they go on an angry, but highly publicized and sensational, killing spree of innocent bystanders.

I think this girl has been using movies and TV to invent herself for years. Her lying was legendary, even to kids she knew since childhood like Kiomarie and Ryan. Since she doesn't seem very original and had plenty of time to study tv and movies, I'm guessing she got a lot of her other stories about herself right out of the media.

Sure, I think JB may have asked her about the abuse allegations, particularly after the Jailhouse letters came out. I agree with others who've said that he may have legitimately been trying to find some logical reason for her otherwise completely inexplicable behavior and chronic lying. Unfortunately, his ego may be just big enough for him to believe he can figure it out.

Interesting you started this thread as I have been thinking about this sexual abuse allegation from a totally different point after relistening to jail visit video with Lee and Casey....:waitasec:

I don't think Casey may have gotten the possible abuse idea from the Menendez brothers, but I DO think it is possible that...

This is NOT the FIRST time Casey has made this allegation against GA..

Lots of questions never answered....

If Cindy and George separated shortly after Caylee's birth supposively because Cindy discovered GA "gambling issues", why did GEORGE file for divorce (without an income, mind you) instead of CINDY?

What was Lee referring to in asking Casey, "Is this like LAST TIME?"

Why did OSCO jump to have George and Lee tested for paternity? Surely they were acting based on internet speculation....

I could go on...but I am now considering that this case is not the first time Casey has exasperated a MAJOR STORY to cover her actions...

And I now wonder if when her pregnancy became obvious and known, the Anthonys were NOT happy and Casey was taking a lot of anger from both parents. To deflect attention, I think she may have thrown out perpetuated sexual abuse by George in order to drive a HUGE wedge between CA and GA and force Cindy into a position of "WHO DO YOU BELIEVE?"

Cindy's reluctance to believe George may have pushed him to leave the home and eventually file for divorce...

I think it is possible this is what Lee was referring to as...."like the last time.....a completely fabricated story to cover your A&^%"

I think it is possible that this is what Casey was referring to in jail video visit with CA/GA when she referred to her "broken relationship with GA for so long"...

I think this family hit a stalemate on who to believe....Casey or George....and eventually agreed it was never to be spoken of again....

I think it is possible that LE discovered this previous "story" by Casey early on (most likely in interview with Lee) which is what prompted the immediate DNA test on George and Lee....never believed LE requested tests because of internet speculation....

I think THIS may be the "big family secret" everyone has been speculating on for so long....

I don't think Casey or Jose Baez got the sexual abuse story from the Menendez brothers trial. But, IIRC, the Menendez brothers were quite prepared for their trial in a way Casey Anthony doesn't appear to be. In contrast with Casey's hair and clothing, the brothers wore spiffy little sweaters and gave the attitude that they were intelligent, well dressed victims of their evil parents. I think that one brother testified on both brothers behalf with the proper tones of fear, regret, and tears. They had psychiatric testimony, too. None of it worked, but in contrast, Casey has nothing but Baez.

I had to read a refresher on these men, and I am struck with a few similarities, particularly in their upbringing. Spoiled, indulged, failing at school, lusting after the parent's lifestyle, going on spending sprees after the murder, and blaming sexual abuse as a reason for their crime.

With KC, though-- Caylee never hurt a hair on her head.

Wow, they both watched movies that reflected their crimes right after they committed them-- the Menendez' went to see License to Kill at a movie theater (for an alibi I assume).

Well, I don't think she did but if she did, that's all she got. I watched the Menendez Bros. trial from beginning to end. I was off on maternity leave. Their attorney was good - Leslie Abramson. Very good. Jose is a spot on the pavement compared to her. Leslie did use to rub their backs and coddle them and got called out for that though, sort of like Mason is always coddling ICA.

KC told TL and JG (plus possibly many others) she had been sexually abused. IMO, she uses this tale to gain sympathy. I know at least one person who has claimed rape on several men throughout her life when they crossed her.

Susan Smith confessed and led police to where her babies were, after being called out on her lies by law enforcement. Casey, sticking with her story and someone else had to find her baby.

Her attorney probably explained how serious the charge and situation is, and that there has to be a very good explanation for her behavior those 31 days and for the lies. Maybe he gave a few examples. The accusations against her parents and against Lee must have gotten her lots of sympathy from Jesse at one time, so what better defense. The opening statements didn't include the search for missing kids, but if she did that search, she may have stumbled across the story of Susan Smith who claimed sex abuse by her step father. Then too, Casey sat at home all day watching TV and could have gotten some ideas from Oprah and so many talk shows and actors who were into confessing that they'd been abused. Casey has got to have an extremely good excuse for her behavior and for why she didn't tell what had happened to Caylee.

I have been wondering if KC threw out the sexual abuse card becausenof the Susan Smith trial. I believe Susan's stepfather testified during the penalty phase that he had sexually abused her. I always wondered if he did that just to save her from the death penalty or was it really true? Either way, I still don't believe GA abused KC, but rather it was KC that abused everyone in her path.

BBM - Funny you mention that because I have always believed the reason Casey stringed along so many men and the reason she told some of them about the abuse (I believe Mark Hawkins was next) that she was looking for the perfect male partner to commit the ultimate crime for her... or with her.
