No. I think there are many things the prosecution chose not to test. Apparently there was blood on the towel and Rudy wanted it tested, but that was denied. I got the impression that Italian police introduced or obtained enough evidence to implicate all three suspects, but that they didn't seek to duplicate evidence. They already had plenty of samples of mixed Amanda DNA, why duplicate? Why introduce redundant information in court? Why say that Knox's DNA was on the bra or in the bedroom? It seems to me that the obvious explanation is that the DNA got there in the laundry, and Knox's DNA got in the bedroom because they were roommates. No need to introduce redundant and ineffective evidence in court.

Was Rudy's DNA on the bra raised at any point by anyone else - other than Raffaele's expert?

Are you now suggesting the bra itself was not tested? The same bra with so much of RG's DNA all over it?

As for the towel i am assuming you are referring to the bloody towel that Stephanoni put into a PLASTIC BAG which then became MOLDY!!!! Thus it could not be tested

NO DNA of AK in MK's bedroom and if you have proof otherwise i request a cite

Knox and Sollecito said that they smoked a lot of hashish on the night of the murder. Are we now thinking that they lied about this too?

Otto i would request that you take the time to read the posts. This has been gone over in detail far too many times

What's the conclusion about the drugs ... someone named Frank said that there were none in their systems so they didn't do drugs?

I'm hoping someone more knowledgeable than I will come along to answer your questions. In the meantime, I don't want to see your post ignored.

I don't know what concrete evidence there is of AK's or RS' presence at the time of the murder. I asked and was told there was a mountain of evidence. Thus far, not even a pebble has rolled by.

There is rough footage of someone approaching the cottage around 9 p.m. Whether or not the footage is of AK seems to be very much in dispute.

I don't understand MK's various wounds. Let's hope someone will explain the major ones to both of us.

It wasn't AK's and RS' cell phones that were located, but Meredith Kercher's. (She had one phone for local calls and another one for international calls.) They were found discarded in somebody's garden. One source I read said the garden was near Rudy Guede's residence, but posters here have assured me that all the locations in this case are fairly near to one another, so the proximity to RG's house is meaningless.

I hope this helps a little. As I said, I'm pretty new to the case myself.

BBM

rolled by is an apt description

Perugia has a population of 163,000 as of 2007 IIRC and I watched the TV coverage outside and watched the news footage and can guarantee there were not 163,000 people outside that court room

That figure does NOT include the students that attend the universities

So there was not a roar of cheering in the streets when the verdict was announced?

yup all them thar people including massei hhhhhhhmmmmmmmmm

How about that! And I was thinking that one of the few things Knox and Sollecito were truthful about was the fact that they were 3 sheets to the wind on the night of the murder. I guess they really were at home doing nothing on the night of the murder ... what a waste of time and money to have all those lawyers in a courtroom for months talking about nothing.

Again, why do you keep posting this same link ... almost daily now? Is it easier to assess length in metric?

cuz i like it and he explains it soooooooo much better than i do :D

Most non-metric people prefer imperial ... so I'm surprised that the metric ruler is so much more helpful when measuring this 12 inch knife.

I can't get past the claim that Knox is in jail because of two small pieces of evidence ... because ... that contradicts what the family says ... according to them there is no evidence.

which drugs?
I thought earlier it was posted that the only drug found in their system was weed.
I was assured they were tested on everything.

The bottom line is, several drug tests were given... cannabis was all that was found. This fact is backed up by trial testimony and the judges report that followed.

Twisted on drugs is another one of Mignini's theories that never panned out.
He tried to say Amanda murdered Meredith because...
- a satanic ritual
- she was jealous of Meredith
- she was angry because Meredith said she didn't clean the bathroom
- Meredith caught her stealing her rent money
- angrily murdered because Meredith was unwilling to participate in a sex orgy
- a sex orgy/prank and Meredith was killed but no malice intended...

the last one is what the judge/jury finally ruled on even though there was no history of sex orgies/prank - plus said amanda and Raffaele stole Meredith's money, credit cards, keys and phones even though Amanda had close to $5000 in her bank account and Raffaele had tons of money at his disposal (one reason the judge considered him a flight risk in the very beginning) plus, he had a trust or something, he inherited a bunch of property from his mother after she died...

basically, Mignini went along with Rudy and whatever he was saying at the time.. a strange union.

.. (in her book) Barbie N. says Rudy's attorney, Biscotti, told her that Mignini secretly struck a deal with Rudy, as long as he testified against Amanda and Raffaele at their appeal trial, his sentence would be reduced. After their discussion, that very day, Rudy's sentence was cut in half and suddenly Rudy was claiming it was Raffaele in the cottage with the knife ...

Here's the thing, Rudy's dna was found on Meredith's purse, on her body - his fingerprints found in her room and rest of the house - He's the one with motive... needed money, history of throwing rocks in windows/breaking/entering, friends w/ Meredith's boyfriend, etc.

a link regarding the knife and bra clasp which i believe is considered by some to be the 2 main pieces of DNA evidence against them

None of the labs in the US disclose what they do during testing because it is proprietary information, yet the biologist says the opposite. I wonder why he is saying something that contradicts information published in the prestigious Nature magazine?

"Critics’ fears are confounded by an unwillingness of the labs that use the technique to reveal their guidelines for interpreting results. Labs should be forced to disclose details, says Budowle. Given the technique’s reproducibility problems, he argues it is imperative that these protocols are robust and reliable. But “none of the labs disclose what they do. They say it is proprietary information,” he says."

Last I heard, hashish is a form of cannabis. AK tested positive for that. No one is disputing that they smoked hashish.

So Rudy's sentence was reduced because he cut a deal with the prosecutor, even though that's not allowed, and even though Rudy was entitled to a reduced sentence because of opting for the fast-track option?

No drugs except marijuana ... and we all know that doesn't make people lose their memories or falsely confess ... although they could have had the munchies and eaten dinner three or four times on the night of the murder.

So there was not a roar of cheering in the streets when the verdict was announced?

I imagine Italians are much like Americans: they/we feel safer if they/we believe the justice system is functioning correctly and fairly. It's just too scary to think about the truth. Add to that the fact that Perugians had been bombarded with articles on the evil American girl.

The real question should be this: if Perugians were cheering the verdicts in the streets, then what had they been saying to the jurors, none of whom had been sequestered, before the verdicts?

There was HUGE cheering and celebration in South Central L.A. (which has a higher population the Perugia) when the OJ verdict came in. What is your point with the cheering comment? Is it evidence of something?

Good point. The Italian jurors are probably the type to be heavily influenced by trash magazines and most likely based the verdict on what was published in the newspapers.

I'm going to have to think back to get the context for the comment ... I think that someone suggested that one of the prosecutors was a joke or that people couldn't take him seriously. My response was that it appeared that many people took the prosecutors and judicial system seriously and demonstrated their confidence in the system by cheering when the verdict was announced. I'm assuming that the cheering meant the people of Perugia endorsed the court's decision, and do indeed have faith in the prosecutors ... but it's possible that a soccer game had just ended and the cheering was nothing more than an unfortunate coincidence.
