Murder warrant issued for man in Clinton Twp. deaths

The Macomb County Prosecutor's Office has issued a first-degree murder warrant against a 24-year-old Clinton Township man in connection with the killing of his sister and her boyfriend.

There is a $5,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Robert Marzejka. The reward is being offered through Crime Stoppers and the U.S. Marshals Service.

Suspect in Clinton Township double murder arrested

"CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WXYZ) - The suspect in a double murder in Clinton Township from earlier this week is in custody. According to police, the U.S. Marshals office arrested 24-year-old Robert Marzejka in Cincinnati, Ohio around 2 p.m. on Wednesday.

A warrant was issued on Wednesday for Robert in connection to the murder of his sister, Danielle Marzejka, and her boyfriend, Seren Bryan, which happened Sunday night.

Marzejka was arrested at a library in Cincinnati, according to police...."

8/31/18 Update: Robert arrested in Ohio on 8/29/18; in Hamilton County jail awaiting extradition to Michigan. Charged with 2 counts of 1st degree murder.

24-year old Clinton Township man charged in double murder

Clinton Township, Mich (WJBK) - Back in Michigan 24-year old Robert Marzejka after trying to flee police. He’s in court Monday in Clinton Township, arraigned on two counts of first degree murder.

No job, no attorney, no friends or family in the courtroom Marzejka received a court-appointed attorney and quickly ordered to stay behind bars in Macomb County.

Police and the medical examiner's office are not releasing details on how the teens died but we're expected to learn more at the preliminary exam scheduled for September 24.

The couple's bodies were found Aug. 26, stuffed in trash bags inside a storage shed next to a mobile home in the Rudgate Clinton mobile home park in Clinton Township. The couple resided there with Danielle’s father and her younger brother...

Clinton authorities have not disclosed any known motive for the slayings and have not revealed details of how Danielle Marzejka and Bryan were killed, other than they appeared to have been beaten...

Sheikh, who is appointed by the Macomb County Office of Judicial Aid to represent Robert Marzejka Jr., told The Macomb Daily he visited Marzejka at the mental health wing of the Macomb County Jail on Sept. 13. Sheikh said his client was concerned that day because he hadn’t received psychiatric medication yet after having been off medication for “a while.” The defense lawyer said Marzejka told him in court on Monday that he has since received the medication.

Sheikh said Marzejka has three prior hospitalizations for mental health issues.

“There’s definitely a history there,” Sheikh said. “He’s got to stay focused so I can ask him questions and that he can answer.”

Clinton Twp. double murder suspect competent to stand trial


CLINTON TWP., Mich. (FOX 2) - Facing life in prison for the heinous murders of his sister and her boyfriend, 24-year-old Robert Marzejka was in shackles and back in court in Clinton Township on Wednesday as the results of his mental evaluation were revealed.

"At this time the people will stipulate to the findings of the report, indicating that the defendant is competent," said Macomb County Assistant Prosecutor William Cataldo.

Prosecutors are waiting on full toxicology and autopsy reports. The cause of these teen's deaths has not yet been revealed. Prosecutors are preparing for Marzejka's preliminary exam to determine if he will head to trial.

The judge and the defense agreed Marzejka is competent. His next hearing is scheduled for February 4. Prosecutors expect about five or six witnesses to take the stand.
