Hi - the medical examiner got back to me to tell me that the UID and Sherry were compared back in 2002 with no match. It sounds like fingerprints were compared, but I’ve asked for confirmation.

The Resolved cases number for Michigan has increased by one in the past hours, but no visible cases have been removed. Perhaps there was a delay in marking this Doe's case as Resolved. There's no way of knowing for sure, though.

How much you guys want to bet that it was Sherry and it took this long because of Detroit... "bureaucracy" let's call it.

I’ve always slightly distrusted the rule out because of how obvious it looks. So far her NamUs is still up though; I’ve been checking all week
